Problems with Lottso

I have been having problems with Lottso for a few weeks now.  (the game itself, not the auto program)  What happens is that the game freezes for me after only a few rounds of play.  I will give you some details.  I usually use AOL 8.0 to play Pogo.  What happens is first I lose the sound to the game and then 10-15 seconds later the game freezes.  Then no matter what game I go to within Pogo, I have no sound.  This only effects the sounds in Pogo, the rest of the computer sounds work ok. To get sound back in pogo through aol, I have to reboot.  I then will open IE 6.0 and try there.  The same thing usually happens.  But if I exit IE completely and open pogo back up again, I can get the sound back without rebooting the computer.  Hopefully I haven't lost anyone here and am explaining myself clearly.  Occasionally I can play without the game freezing but not nearly as often as I'd like.  Lottso is the ONLY game in pogo this happens with.  Anyone have any ideas for me?  Settings on my computer I can mess around with?  Or is this something out of my control?  I use Windows ME.  Thanks in advance for your help!!!!

I am having the same problem as you princess.  I thought it was just my PC and the new version of Sun Java.  I also have deleted my temporary internet files and even deleted all of the Java temporary file through the Java control panel.  I've even tried playing Lottso without the auto and it still locks up.  The sound problems happen with just about every game.  After about 15~20 minutes the sound either repeats the same sound over and over again or just goes away.  I'm afraid to email Pogo because of the horror stories of lack of support and form replies.

I will still look for a work around and if I find anything I'll be sure to post the solution.

Sorry I meant to mention that I have already tried deleting my temporary internet files.  Barbara, is that the same thing as what you are talking about?  If not, where do I go to perform the operation you described?  Thanks!

And as for the repeating bell noises in Lottso, a lot of people have that happen so I believe that is a Pogo issue.  I know when that happens to me, I just turn the sound off.

Unless I am doing something wrong, which is entirely possible, under view objects, lottso is not there.  Neither is pogo or anything resembling pogo.  I can find lots of pogo and lottso things listed under view files, but not view objects.  What am I doing wrong?  I appreciate your help!

Homer

Under view objects should be files from every pogo game you have played. Is it possible you may have clicked on view files by accident?

No I just went and checked again to be sure but under view objects there is nothing about pogo there, no games or anything listed.

Homer

That's odd. It should be there. Maybe someone else might have an answer.

if vjm isn't checked like mine isn't it no pogo games show up, but when jvm is checked then they show up.i just use java not jvm

princess

I don't see vjm or jvm under view objects either.  Where would I find those?

Homer

Sun java and Microsoft VM are in Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Tab>Scroll down and you will see them. You must have one of these javas selected for the game to run. You can click either the Sun Java option or under Microsoft VM check JIT Compiler. Click OK and reboot the pc. If one doesn't help try the other. ;)

I just went there and checked.  Sun Java IS checked.  Under MS VM java console enabled and java logging enable are NOT checked but JIT compiler IS checked.  Are these settings correct?  Thanks so much for your time!

misty2u

sounds like they r coorect, if it still doesn't work, try with just jit complier checked & sun java unchecked as homer said make sure u reboot.let us know how u make out.

Homer

Your welcome. Try unchecking the Sun Java, reboot the pc. Try the game and see if it is better. If not recheck the Sun Java and uncheck the JIT Compiler reboot the pc and try the game again. Hopefully one of these will get you playing again. ;)

Well, Homer your first suggestion has appeared to have worked!  Thanks so much to you all for your help and time!  I can play Lottso again!   O0
