Need Help with Jigsaw Detective

Hi everyone.
I'd really like to buy the Jigsaw Detective program, but I just can't seem to get this thing to work no matter what I try. Here are my specs.

1. Windows XP Pro
2. IE 6.0 & Firefox (tried both)
3. Color setting: 32 bit
4. Screen size : 1024 x 768
5. Smooth edges unchecked
6. Microsoft VM & Sun Java 1.5.0_01

When I first ran the program, I ran it in IE with MVM. Worked fine until the end of the puzzle and then it would get hung up on the last row. It also ran extremely slow. Would take almost 17 minutes to even come close to finishing. Then I tried Sun Java with Firefox. I never saw that program run so fast! WOW! But when it gets to the part where it separates the frame pieces, it puts too many pieces on the right pile and then it gets hung up when trying to solve the frame because all the pieces arent where they should be. I've tried all different kinds of combinations, smooth edges checked&unchecked,different screen sizes, etc. I set the program to slow, but it still seems like its running too fast when it gets to that point where it messes up. I would really like to get this thing working because I only have one badge out of the entire series and I would like to get the rest. any help would be greatly appreciated.
