I copied this from our friendly admin "HOMER"

Minimize all applications so that you can see the desktop.
Right-click anywhere on the desktop background (not on an icon).
In the resulting pop-up menu, choose Properties. This will open the Display Properties dialog box.
In the Display Properties dialog box, select the Appearance tab.
In the Appearance tab, click the Effects button (lower right).
In the Effects dialog box, check the "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" check box to enable font smoothing and uncheck it to disable font smoothing.

I would use the "report problem" feature that is built into the auto.

This auto program does not have a font dependency.  It reads little balls, not numbers and letters.
Whether it will only run on Windows XP depends on which msvm or Sun jvm version is being used.

Thanks Barbara
I did not know that, I just thought the unchecked fonts helped autos run better.
You learn something NEW every day.

Barbara

Autos that have fonts do run better with the option unchecked.  First it has to have a font.

i tried using the report problem and it said it couldnt connect to the internet but i was playing on pogo so that doesnt work

Another quote from Homer:

Please make sure to give as much information as you can when you have technical problems.

Here are some things that will help:

1) Operating system (Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP etc)
2) Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, Mozilla, Opera etc)
3) Color setting (24 bit, 32 bit etc)
4) Screen resolution (800x600, 1024x768)
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts checked or unchecked
6) What Java you are using
7) Is anything at all happening when you start the program

You get the idea the more information the better.

ty barb.  i learned something new too today.  i didnt know that before.  i was assuming the same thing, that the fonts had to be unchecked.  but what i do know is that is turn off sun java and run only ms java.  dont forget to restart your computer after turning off sun java.  hope that works.

Jeffer

It looks like all your settings are where they should be.  The only suggestion I have is to try running just Sun or MSVM.  MSVM usually works best, but folks have had better luck with just one or the other...
