Is it just me, or is it that the vast majority of Wal-mart employees are dumb as shovels??? I made a purchase and the cashier didn't give me one of my bags. Seeing as I live 40 miles from the Supercenter, i wasn't about to go back for 40 bux worth of merchandise in the same day. It was 9:00pm when i got home, and I called customer service and they said they would help me, if i came back to the store, grant it they never said I would receive the items in my bag. I callled them again this morning and they told me they could not refund my money OR give me my items. I asked what should I do. They told me there was really nothing they can do to help me. So pretty much they bluntly said it sux to be me. I was wondering if anyone has had similiar problems with these idiots and any suggestions on how to resolve my problem? Thanks for the input!

Go to http://www.walmartmovie.com to see funny stuff about WalMart. Yes WalMart is the end of all that is good but we've already knew that.

I've left a bag or item behind before (and not just at Wal-Mart) and it's never been a problem. I called, let them know my situtation, told them I had just been there, told them I had the reciept and would bring back the bags I did have. They checked with the cashier I had and he/she had set the bag aside.

However. If the cashier was not paying attention to whether or not you had all of your items, and the next person in line just grabbed your bag as a bonus freebie...there's nothing they can really do. At that point the cashier was an idiot not doing their job and the next person or persons in line were oppurtunists and sneaks. Honestly, how many people these days say anything if you drop some money from your wallet or you forget to grab something from the bottom of your shopping cart? Not many.

I had a run in with a Wal-Mart manager up state from me. They charged me the wrong price, so I went to the customer service desk and informed them of the error and asked for my "Ten times the difference plus the difference" which is state law (There is a cap on the amount they can give you). The manager fought with me over and over again telling me that they can't do that. So finally I told her to go check it out or I would just call the attorney general's office and check it out myself *cell phone in hand*. Funny, when she checked it out she pretty much slapped the money in my hand and gave me the look of death.

The other day I got out of my car at Wal-Mart with my mother. I took her wheelchair around the side of the car so I could transfer her into it and I saw about thirty dollars lying beside the car next to us. They had just gotten in and were ready to pull out, so I grabbed the money and tapped on her window. Scared the bahjesus out of her, but when she found out that I had her money (that she had her purse open trying to figure out where it had gone) and confirmed the amount she was missing...she was really pleased that I was honest enough to give it to her and not take it.

It's the little things that people don't do anymore- Open doors for the elderly or disabled, return things to their rightful owners, say "Excuse me" "Please" "Thank you" "Do you need help with that", etc. I do what I can, but some people are just idiots anymore.

Sorry to hear about your misadventures at Wal-Mart. They really should have been on top of something like that.

I was a customer service manager at walmart for many years and if merchandise is left behind it gets logged into a book at the customer service desk. They should have all your items logged there and I would specifically call and ask to speak to that dept. They will of course need your reciept and they will ask you for some information to verify it like the register number and the time of the occurence.

If that gets you no where then demand to speak to the store manager and he or she should be able to help you out. Store managers at walmart will bend over backwards to help you and keep you happy for fear that you will complain about them to the home office.

Hope that helps.

I tried that...they have nothing logged and nothing was reported from that register. I even remember the number register i was on, the time i was there, and everything. I talked to the customer service desk and they acted as if I'd done lost my mind. Funny thing is, I use to work there as an Assistant Manager, and my how times have changed :o

The problem with people today (no one on this forum however), is they are selfish, snooty, and gon't give a flying fig about no ones feelings, property, ar money but their own. Grant it, if this had happened to them, they would more than likely be angry as well.
What I have decided to do, is carry my happy arse up in there this afternoon, cell phone in hand, and if the refuse to give me my money, I will go through chain of command, starting with home office and leading to corporate headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, if I have to. I'm sick of thier crap anyways. Oh and the cashier was talking to another associate BEHIND her, so read between the lines. She's a friggin idiot. And if I was her manager...her happy tail would have already been fired. >:D

You guys have got to visit http://jibjab.com/Home.aspx click on big box mart.....funny as heck moive..about 3-4 minutes long that pokes fun at big box reatail....LOL Oh..I also work in Loss Prevention (undercover store security) at walmart..yes I'm sorry this happened to you...and yes, walmart is as bad as they say...have any ??'s just give me a holler.

I used to work at one of the smallest Wal-Marts, where we did escort customers to the correct aisle and give good customer service, including the 10 foot rule. If Mr Sam were still around, there would be wholesale firings. Too bad his family took it in another direction. Maybe if Wal-Mart paid a living wage, they could get a better class of help.

Although I can't apologize for the morinic losers that work at walmart, I can say that when I did that too customers and I noticed it I would put my next customer on hold and tried to run them down to give them thier merchandise. Yes a bunch of them are retarded and really shouldn't be working there but then what can you do. BTW retarded and handicapped are 2 different classes.....I once knew a guy in a wheelchair who was way smarter than regular employees lol. If the associates act like assholes, then my suggestion is go to the store manager then district manager. If this still doesn't help, call 1-800-walmart and ask to speak to LEE SCOTT which is the head CEO, he will get things done.

oh and BTW, to those who vote.......why is it we vote for rich people for president who don't give a crap about us. Maybe it is time to elect someone that works for the low wage that most of us have. If the president makes $200,000 and a general employee makes around $20,000, who do you think would really be there to help higher the standards of living? Just a thought for the 2012 elections lol.

I am glad to see there are more anti-walmart people in the world (especially here cause I think this is a great forum).
I haven't set foot in a wal-mart in 2 years, and I couldn't be happier...I know my tiny boycott is not hurting them in the here and now, but hopefully, others will follow.

As for the problem with the missing bag...they don't pay their employees enough to care. If that had been a local grocery store or a smaller mom and pop type outfit, your bag would have been there or there would have been an instant refund.

Thanks for the links to the walmart movie and jibjab...made my day.

did any of you notice the Walmart banners on this site. Kinda funny

This is a site (like many others) that has advertisements based on the topic of conversation. If this topic had mainly talks about "Toys R Us", you would see Toys R Us ads all over this page. It just depends on the topic of conversation and them pushing ads on us.

Snarechick

I'm not anti-Walmart...being on a very limited income causes me to poverty shop there. Then again, the Walmart in the town I live in has always had great employees 99% of the time. Very curteous, very helpful, and most know you by name.

As for the others I've visited in the state (including my run-in with the manager in Gaylord), I can see why people loath the store like they do.

Work is work, but how much effort does it take to not be a prick to the people buying from your store and paying your wages? I worked at Mervyn's during the Thanksgiving-New Year's holiday a few years ago...you will not believe how people act during their "First ____ customers for the ____ holiday sale get a free____". I'm a very layed back person...but it was an all out mind over matter effort to not snap at the shoppers. It's a choice...and a lot of retail employees choose not to make it.

Did anyone actually click on the link to wal-mart listed at the top of this page. I thought i was going to pee my drawers. I have never saw such a bunch of horse manure in all my born days. They are PRAISING how great and wonderful they are...roflmaoooooooo@ THAT. I suggest go to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and look at there 2 stores and they'd think differently. Can we say store shutdowns??? lmaooooooo.I wish >:D.

SaintHiρρo

Can't say I have clicked on the link since the spiders on the web look for the word Wal-Mart and decides it seen Wal-Mart enough times to make ads on this page relate to Wal-Mart but recently, I haven't seen ads for Wal-Mart. I can only assume it's because the word Wal-Mart hasn't shown up enough lately so they think this topic is about something else. So if all else fails, I must type Wal-Mart a million times to see if they show more Wal-Mart related advertisements. Can't get enough of seeing Wal-Mart on the page instead of something useful (I would type a name in but I want to make sure I only mention Wal-Mart to see what happens). Oh well... guess beggers for Wal-Mart ads can't be chosers. Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart... hopefully that does it!

this is the link to how great and wonderful they are, in case you need a good belly laugh. http://factchecker.purpleocean.org/

Call the home offices 800# and complain about that store. I guarantee you that something will be done.

pogohatesme

great site!! I loved reading it...the sad thing is that it isn't just wally-world (our nickname for it) it tons of places around here. We had a Target and it closed becase Wal-mart and Meijer were doing more business...the Target was small and personal and you could find things....I've got to park 12 miles away just to "run in" to Wal mart to grab a couple things....but I'm with Snare on the fact that I'm on a limited income and wouldn't trade it for anything lol.... for every crapy person they've got...i've got a big smile and a crappy comeback for them lol
