I HAVE RUN INTO THIS BEFORE AND DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY DOING A RECOVERY WOULD CHANGE MY CODES ON MY COMPUTER! HELP PLEASE!! :'(

system recovery as in, system restore - as in, restoring your puter back to factory condition?
i have no idea the logistics as to why it happens, but my first suggestion would be to quit doing whatever it is you're doing that forces you into system recovery.

after all, you said this wasn't your first barbeque and i think its a matter of fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice....

No I don't think they meant reformat, they meant system restore, go to accessories on the start menu and you find it there.  This to me is one of the most useful tools in Windows, I do it everytime I get spyware I can't get off my puter, and that is after doing spysbot, ada-ware, hijack this, and anything else I can find to remove certain things.  I have done it many times, and my codes still work.

ok, well i was talking about system recovery. i don't know why i put the restore part in there. oh yeah, now i remember - if you do a recovery, it RESTORES your computer back to factory condition - thats what i was talking about.  if you do a recovery you will lose the codes. been there, done that.
