Maybe that person was Mike J before. Maybe he sent a message and then it got deleted.
Check your email and see if you have the message.

the 50 post rule has nothing to do with it.  I also revcd the PM and it was deleted from server, thankfully, before I had a chance to open it but mine still shows 1 message.  It's nothing to really worry about.

I think you have to do the delete all messages to get rid of it, not just delete.  O0

Mine still says I have 1 message also. I deleted all and refreshed, and that didn't get rid the "you have 1 message" at the top. This is annoying >:(.

I just rcvd a msg from someone here on the boards and after I read it I click "delete all" and it deleted that 1 msg and it deleted the one that wasen't there also...if that helps anyone ....hope that doesn't seem confusing

I believe the way it worked for the others is they deleted all messages at once.
