For people who have over 50 posts and are able to PM, and still have the "phantom message" that they want to get rid of, and have noticed the method used in this post.. there is an easier way than to ask someone else to PM you. You can just PM yourself, and then delete all messages after that. I have not tried it personally, but I know you can PM yourself (I did test that out first), so there's no reason why it shouldn't work just as if you had gotten a PM from someone else.
