Spice It Up

Alright here we go sorry to be blunt.... I Hate Jigsaw Detective!!!  There I said it is out. lol.
I have read that some people are having problems with the download, and so am I. I am so sad, because it worked great during trial, then hasn't once worked since I bought the download, 6.3 I believe. I have tried everything... including switching javas from sun to vm, switching from medium to easy on jigsaw and fast to medium to slow on the speed of the download. I use IE for browser, and I even downloaded firefox, because somesaid it works better, ir did for me, in fact it ran slow for me. Please help if anyone has any other sugestions. I want to get this badge to be caught up. TY TY TY!!!   I have thunder popper and I love that one. Works great!!!!!

Oh forgot to tell you how it is acting... just like everyone has said.... it will do the border then the board slides down then auto won't run anymore. Ok, lets see if anyone can help me..... pppllleeeaaasseeee!! :'(

Spice It Up

I am still trying to figure this out... nothing will work >:(. Why would it work fine during free trial, and not now. I wonder if something is wrong with jigsaw too, because sometimes my pieces won't show up or when I hit new game it won't take away my old puzzle. I did notice that when I switched to sun java though, that is the java some people say to use. I don't know.

Still needing help!! Thanks!!   :-[

Scarlette

Spice It Up, make sure there is nothing open except the game and auto and also turn off the sound.  And then just leave it run and try not to touch the mouse.  I have done all of the above and it works great for me.  I sure hope this helps you out, but if it does not try posting your specs so and Administrator can help you out.

Scarlette

These are the specs you need to tell the Administrator so that they can help you out.

1) Operating system (Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP etc)
2) Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, Mozilla, Opera etc)
3) Color setting (24 bit, 32 bit etc)
4) Screen resolution (800x600, 1024x768)
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts checked or unchecked
6) What Java you are using
7) Is anything at all happening when you start the program

Spice It Up

Thank you Scarlette, however, I have done what you suggested, by turning sound off, and not touching mouse etc. Here are my specs meant to post them in the first place ooops, that might be helpful... ::)

1.) windows xp
2.) IE
3.) 32 bit
4.) 800x600
5.) smooth edges??? Not sure where to find that.  ???
6.) microsoft VM   (and tried sun)
7.) acts like it starts fine, but just does border of puzzle then stops

hope that is what you need. Thanks!

Spice, This is where you find smooth edges and it need to be unchecked

You can look up the 'smooth edge's setting in XP by bringing up the Display Properties (right-click over the desktop and select Properties or open Display in Control Panel). Select the Appearance tab and click the Effects pushbutton.

I suggest you make sure the 'smooth edges of fonts' setting is unchecked to eliminate font problems with autoplayers.

Changing your screen resolution from 800x600 to 1024x768  might help too  :)

That is right GeminiGirl the best screen resolution is 1024x768 and thank you for catching that.

Spice It Up

ok to answe # 5... I went adn saw that my smooth edges thing was checked, and I unchecked it. Will that do a lot for autos?

and unfortunatly I have tried 1024x768, use to use it all the tim when i would use aol for browser, now use IE and never had to with other autos, but like i said did try that...didn't change a thing... :-[ :'(, but ty gemini and scarlette, any more suggestions still let me know, I am dying to make this auto work.

By the way, I am a gemini too... O0

Spice It Up

oh and sorry about all my typo errors, i get in such a hurry, i don't ever bother to preview or spell check. ::)

Spice, all of the auto's that you purchase need to have the smooth edges to be unchecked.  If you have done all of that then the auto should work. What Jigsaw Detective are you using?  I wish I could help you out more and I hope that you get the auto up and running.

Spice It Up

Alright Scarlette, well tyvvvvvm for all your help I will try it and see if it works. I really appreciate it. Sorry for taking so much of your time up. Wish me luck!!!!! O0

Thanks Again!!!  :-*

Un-checking the smooth edges of screen fonts is generally recommended here for all the autos.  For me personally when I'm using Jigsaw Detector I also make sure that no unnecessary programs are running at the same time like messengers MSN, yahoo etc...I also disable my anti-virus.  I put the auto on and I leave it alone, I don't interupt it or touch the mouse if I can help it and in about an hour or less I have my badge :) Don't know what else to suggest.  Hope you get it working.  Good luck  O0 :)

SexySagittarian

Don't know if it will help or not but you might try deleting the jigsaw auto that you have and redownload it. That works a lot of times. You will not have to re register the auto. It will remain registered on the new download

Island Froggy

I know how you feel Spice It Up. I have tried everything that everyone suggests and most make no difference or make it worse. A few tips have helped me out but a few days later it isn't working again in a different way. I too am verrrryyyy sad and frustrated. They need to put their efforts into fixing this auto.I never would have bought it if I had known it would be this kind of headache. But like you said it worked perfect during trial.

Spice It Up

Thanks Island, I know. In a way I have to say I am glad others are having problems too just so I know I am not the problem, or my computer is not the problem, but it does suck that we are having so much trouble with this. I wish that they could look into it again and find something that will work for everyone. I am so bumbed. That is one game I can't stand for sure. So now, I guess I just threw $10 out the window, because I have tried everything I know to try, or have been told to try.  :-[ :'(
All we can do is keep hoping!! Thanks again!!

Ok, did the auto run with Firefox? Just slowly?  I usually set mine to medium speed (with firefox) on medium difficulty and it solves a puzzle in like 6:30.  No, its not the fastest, but it does not require me to stare at a stupid electronic jigsaw puzzle in order to get my badge...so as an auto goes....its doing what its supposed to... automatically solving the puzzle for me.

Spice it up I use MicrosoftVM and IE, try this if u havent already, go to

Tools>Internet options>Advanced, Under MicrosoftVM Tick> JIT complier for virtual machine enabled

That worked for me, hope it does for you  :)
