When I tried the free trial for Jigsaw Detector it worked great! Solved 10 puzzles in a little over a half hour. So since Jigsaw Detective is so boring I decided to buy Jigsaw Detector. Ever since I paid for it, it has been working terrible. It takes almost a half hour to solve one puzzle. What is up with that? Nothing on my computer has changed between the trial and the purchase so shouldn't I get what I paid for? I am running windows 98 and I know that can be the problem with lots of the programs but like I said it worked fine during the free trial.Hopefully someone can help me because I am feeling very ripped off right now.
1) Operating system (Windows 98)
2) Browser (Internet Explorer)
3) Color setting (32 bit)
4) Screen resolution (800x600)
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts unchecked
6) Java - Microsoft VM
7) Is anything at all happening when you start the program. Yes it works but very very slowly. Not like before.

Try switching to Sun Java. Some of the autos work better with Sun. Are you playing on the hard level? You will have more puzzle pieces and it will take longer to solve. Try switching to medium or easy. I turn it on and walk away. I check it every now and then in case it gets hung up, which happens periodically. This is no big deal, because it is playing the most boring game in the world for me! I have one more badge to get and I will be caught up with this son of a gun!

I would also suggest trying to use mozilla firefox as your browser...Jigsaw Detector runs like a dream with it (Sun Java).

Actually, I have found that most of the autos work better in Firefox...there is one, (which i can't remember off hand) which doesn't... but like I said, most work fabulously!   O0

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried using sun java and that made it worse. Jigsaw Detector didn't work at all with that Java installed. It just sat there saying it was playing but it wasn't playing.
After that I changed my smooth edges of screen fonts to unchecked and for some reason I don't understand, that did the trick.Until today that is. Now it does the border pulls down the drawer and then proceeds to sit there for hours on end...Please help!!!!!

Did you try the "submit bug report" feature?

The programmers respond to those rather quickly...

ElitePirate

Try changing your screen resolution to 1024 x 768, and if your computer isnt strong enough to run it at 32 bit, thats ok, try 24.

Also, there is an upgrade for firefox called <i>fasterfox</i> it includes prefetching, pipling, AND it blocks flash popups, no more popups EVER!!
also, if you get firefox, make sure you go into your setting and make it ALLOW popups from pogo.com

I have been trying to be very patient but that is quickly running out. I have tried everything that has been suggested to me and nothing works. I even tried the "submit bug report" feature because Foxx told me the programmers respond to those rather quickly but 4 days later I am still waiting for a response. What should I do now?

Island Froggy try this (using MSVM) it worked for me, go to.....

Tools>Internet options>Advanced, Under MicrosoftVM Tick> JIT complier for virtual machine enabled .

Yes I have tried both of those things and the opposite of those things and still no go but thanks anyhow.

Cody

try when running the program, closing all other open internet windows, instant message programs, file sharing programs and disabe antivirus those all feed off of the internet and could slow it down.

Island Froggy

Tried that too. I don't think there is anything I haven't tried and nothing works.

You're using Windows 98 and you say the trial worked great?  I wouldn't have thought most of the autos would have been compatible with something so old unless stated.  If you're using Windows 98 what version of Internet Explorer are you using?

Island Froggy

Yes even though windows 98 is so old it worked fine during trial as did so many of the other programs I planned on buying but since I have been sooo ripped off I for sure will not be buying another.
Sorry but I don't know what version of Internet Explorer I am using. How do I find out and does that really make a difference since it is the same version I use now as I did during trial?
