HERE ARE ALL THE STEPS SO FAR....

MAKING YOUR OWN GLITTER FILES

STEP 1: GETTING THE PROGRAMS AND FILES NEEDED

Go here and download a free trial version of PSP 8 and the resource packs
http://www.jasc.com/products/trialreg.asp?pid=k-psp8-usdir

Go here and download a free trial version of Animation Shop
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel3/Downloads/Trials

Once you've installed the above programs... click on this link to install the filters. I saved it to my Received Files folder. Then opened it and copied the VisMan folder to C:/Program Files/Jasc Software Inc/Paint Shop Pro 8/Plugins

http://www.photoshop-filters.com/downloads/visman/visman.zip

To see what these filters do go to: http://www.photoshop-filters.com/html/visman.htm

http://www.jewelswebgraphics.com/files/jewelsparkles.zip Click here to download Sparkles. These will go in your PSP Picture Tubes File.

http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel3/Home
Click on Communities here you get more picture tubes. They will go in your PSP Picture Tubes file.

I saved them to my Received Files folder. Then opened and copied each file to C:/Program Files/Jasc Software Inc/Paint Shop Pro 8/Picture Tubes

I haven't had any trouble with spyware/popups from downloading these trials.

These 2 programs and files are what you will use to make your glitter files.

STEP 2: MAKING A SIMPLE GLITTER FILE

1: Open Paint Shop Pro
2: Click on New (little picture of a sheet of paper)
    Settings should be :

Click for Larger Image

Size- ANY -I am using 200x290 Pixels for the tutorial since this is the size picture being used in glittering part of a picture coming later.
*Be sure Transparent is checked.

3: Click on Flood Fill Tool (Looks like a tilted paint can)
If your tools toolbar isn't showing, Click on View: Toolbars: Tools

4: Now choose your color and click on the picture until it's completly covered (all the white and grey squares gone).

Click for Larger Image

I used #C70912 for this tutorial. By clicking on the swatch(square that is red in the image above) a window will open where you can type in the #.

5: Click on Edit then click on Copy. Now Click on Edit again and click on Paste as New Image. Repeat
Click on Window and Cascade.
You will now have 3 copies of the image

Click for Larger Image

6:  Click on Image Copy 1. Now Click on Adjust. Then, click on Add/Remove Noise. Now click on Add Noise

Click for Larger Image

For Copy 1 I used Random 50% Monochrome checked

7: Click on File. Then, Export. Then, JPEG Optimizer.
Be sure Chroma Subsampling is set to none
Click OK and save as Image 1

Click for Larger Image

8: Repeat Step 6 and 7 Using Image Copy 2 and saving as Image 2
For Copy 1 I used Random 70% Monochrome checked

9: Repeat Step 6 & 7 Using Image Copy 3 and saving as Image 3

Okay, figured out the problem. I left out 1 file that you needed. The one with the sparkles .... LOL

http://www.jewelswebgraphics.com/files/jewelsparkles.zip Click here to download Sparkles. These will go in your PSP Picture Tubes File.

I saved them to my Received Files folder. Then opened and copied each file to C:/Program Files/Jasc Software Inc/Paint Shop Pro 8/Picture Tubes

The visman is your gradients. It will give you your metalic backgrounds for making the glitters.
I just went through the steps again and they are working for me. I have Windows NT not sure if you have something different if that would make a difference in how you need to save, copy, and paste.

wheni copied the visman i just copied the whole folder in there do i need to do each one individual?

Shady Lady

When you download them, they will download as individual files. They won't be in folders. Copy these to the location of you Picture Tubes Folder.

Visman will download as a zip folder. Click on it to open. Copy the folder that is inside to the location of your plugins folder.

macktami95

well mine are in an unzipped folder but so i have to do each one by itself man that can take a while that must be the problem with the visman or maybe not i thought they were something else lol and OOPS about that download lol
