Problem loading pogo games

Hi, Im not sure if anyone can help but thought i would give it a go, My mother bought a new computer and as i am a club pogo member i sent her  a 5 day free pass for pogo, But everytime she tries to play any game on pogo none of the games rooms will load  :( it says loading then applet started but theres nothing coming up.  I looked at pogo help and told me to update her java but that didnt work so i looked again and it said to  delete java and reinstall it, I done this and still nothing.  Now i click a room and when i close the room it freezes my internet connection and have to restart aol,  :'( The thing is im looking at my computer and i have 2 sets of java on my computer one sun and micro vm, But she only seems to have the sun java, Im not sure this is the problem but i cant think of anything else it could be.  pogo not much help and her 5 day pass as expired now.   I clicked the link on pogo to what java i was using and also on my mams and these were the results

Does this mean anything to anyone :-\
Anyway thank you for reading and anyone with suggestions on how i could fix it is much appreciated.

When I had to reinstall my java, I had to delete the pogo games from my computer. Pogo said I had to do this is so that it loads correctly.

Hi Thank you very much for replying, I have removed all pogo from the computer but its still the same  :'(  The thing is my mam is 67 and she retired last year and everytime she called here she would love to play on pogo especially on bingo and so i thought it would be good for her to get a computer now she as a lot of spare time and eventually she gave in and bought one, But now i feel so awful as she only wanted it to play games and i cant even get them on her computer  :'(
Anyway thanks for taking the time to reply i will just have to keep on trying to sort the problem out

Hi Lisa,

You said your mam was on AOL?  I am on AOL and have the latest Sun Java like your mam does,  "mine"  in your post has an older version of the Sun Java.

My games, while loading, freeze my computer just like you said, but I let it go it's course and it adventually finishes downloading whatever it needs to unfreeze the computer and after that the game window changes from yellow to white and the game is fully loaded in less then 3 minutes after that.  It does take longer for a game to load into your computer if you have deleted the temp files, cookies, java cashe etc, then after you have already played the game and let it load but haven't deleted any of that stuff.

Also, Pogo is having issues with that Fast Access thing not working right now, so if you are on dial up like me, it will take alot longer to load a game then if you were on DSL or Cable.

Like I said, it happens to me all the time, as far as the computer freezeing, and I just leave it alone and the computer adventually unfreezes and the game loads.   I guess it is an AOL issue...lol

Hi Crazyman ( Like the name by the way  O0 lol ) Thanks very much for replying.  Yes me mam is aol dial up we have ordered broadband but as yet not recieived it, Im hoping than when she does get it that the games will load then as if not i feel much worse than i do now as she will have to keep it for a year then even she cant still get pogo   >:(   I have left pogo for a long time to see if it will run its course but still it does nothing in bottom left page it will say "Applet started"  but on the screen it says "loading fortune bingo" and it have stayed like that for upto 30 minutes,  Maybe it is an aol issue  :-\  Anway thanks again for taking the time to replying.

Hi Lisa,  3  of  my friends and myself  was  having the same trouble loading the games too. We all  have  Windows XP that  does  not come with Microsoft VM Java.
One has AOL too, she is a happy camper now after getting the JVM Java  O0

After downloading the Java JVM and telling them to get the JVM we can now play all the game on pogo  O0  To download go to the Club Center at the top  of this forum and Look for  *More Club Pogo resources*  look under that for the  download JVM, click  on that to download.  Save to desk top. After its downloaded go to tools...internet option ...Advanced. Look for the Java and see if the Microsoft VM Java is there IF so Uncheck the Java Sun and Check the Microsoft VM... JIT compiler for virtual machine enquires... then click Apply  and OK  then  Restart your computer

After puter restarted go back  to Internet Options Advanced  to make sure the only thing  checked is the JIT... Go to pogo games and download the game or games It might take 2 or 3 mins

Hi Muffin, Thanks very much for the reply its much appreciated  :)  I should be going up my mam,s sometime this weekend and will definately download microsoft java,  I hope this works as i will have have one happy mam then  O0 Its her birthday next month and was hoping to buy her a years pass to pogo  ;D

I have noticed recently that I am fine when I go into a room, but if I leave and go to another room, or another game Ialways get this page cannot be displayed.  Has anyone had this trouble

I haven't had any problems. You might try clearing your cache.

Also VM seems to load the games quicker than Sun java. ;)

I have sun, and I tried cleaning it out, I havent tried vm

When you change your java turn off the Sun Java. The only thing you need to click under the VM settings is the box for the JIT Compiler. Click ok and close your browser and start over. ;)

Your welcome.

There are 2 javas.

1. Sun Java
2. Microsoft VM

You can find your java settings at Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Tab

Once at the Advanced Tab you'll need to scroll down a little and you'll see Sun Java and VM is right below it.

If your computer does not have VM you can get it at the following link https://www.alibre.com/alibrelibraries/ftp/JavaVM/9xNT4/msjavx86.exe
After saving this file you will need to double click it to install VM.

Do not have both javas checked off. Only have one enabled.

The Sun setting is easy. There is only one box to check off.

If you are switching your java to VM uncheck the Sun Java setting and under the VM settings the only box you need to check is the one for the JIT Compiler.

After making your change click ok to close the menu. Close your browser. Anytime you switch javas it is necessary to close the browser and reopen it again for the changes to take effect.

I didn't have it installed, after it wanted me to restart and then I did the settings and now it works great!  THANKS SO MUCH  and your right it loads a lot faster

what's going on it's never happened to me before it every time i try load up phlinx it says Unable tp COnnect server is it only me or is ne1 else having problems to?  >:(

I just went to a phlinx room and had no problem getting in.

The programmers are working to fix the issues with Flanks. The older version was put back up because it seems to work better.
