okay .. Im really lacking in imagination this year .. My daughter's birthday is coming up, and it is tradition that the birthday kid bring in a snack. I don't want to do the traditional cupcakes - last year I did ice cream cone cupcakes .. but with Valentines having just passed, I was maybe looking for something on the healthier side, but hopefully yummy enough the kids will still eat it - If anyone has ideas Id love to hear them ... Please .. and thanks in advance!

That's hard. . .almost every snack that kids would eat has sugar. What about a sugar free jello or something?

PUPPY CHOW

1 pkg.  (12-oz) chocolate chips
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 box Rice Chex
1 box Powdered Sugar
1 grocery store paper bag

In microwave, melt 1/2 pkg chocolate chips, 1/4 margarine, 1/2 cup peanut
butter for 1 minute.  Stir, then cook for 20-30 seconds.  Stir.  In a large
bowl, pour 1/2 box Rice Chex.  Pour chocolate mixture on top and stir until
well coated.  Pour 1/2 box powdered sugar in bottom of paper bag.  Dump chex
mix on top.  Shake and shake until well coated.  As you can see I halved the
recipe because mixing all once is a pain. Repeat with the other half of the
ingredients

school fuel

3/4 cup packed brown sugar
6 tablespoons margarine or butter*
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
4 cups Corn Chex® cereal
4 cups Rice Chex® cereal
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Cover cookie sheet with waxed paper. Microwave brown sugar, margarine and corn syrup in large microwavable bowl uncovered on High 1 to 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute, until margarine is melted. Stir in baking soda until dissolved. Stir in cereals. Microwave on High 3 minutes, stirring every minute. Spread on cookie sheet. Cool 10 minutes; break into bite-size pieces.
Microwave chocolate chips in small microwavable bowl on High 1 minute 30 seconds or until chocolate can be stirred smooth (bowl will be hot). Drizzle chocolate over snack. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until chocolate is set. Store in airtight container. 8 cups snack.

For pretzel or peanut lovers: Stir in 1 cup broken pretzels or 1/2 cup honey-roasted peanuts with the cereal.

*Do not use spread or tub products.

Whenever my son has a class party, all the adults sign up to buy one thing for a meat/cheese platter-I bought the ham last time, but others buy different cheeses, crackers and lunch meats. I don't know where u live, but if i was going to buy something for a class party, I would maybe get pizza rolls, or yogurt covered pretzels, or heck for my son's home party it's Little Caesar's $5 Hot-n-Ready for me!!!! LOL
