Something has hijacked my IE search.
I ran HiJack This and it came up with a whole list of things.  I don't know what to do now.  Do I check all of the things that it found and then click fix?

Tara

I dont use that particular program but the ones I do use...thats what I do...check them all and click fix it then I delete it

I'm not familiar with that program to be honest but go to http://www.webroot.com/consumer/products/spysweeper/freescan.html

You can do a free spyware scan there. Get rid of whatever it turns up. ;)

PogoCheats - It's all about the badges!!!

SI

NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

HijackThis shows every process (good/bad).  It's extremely thorough, but can be dangerous.  If you select everything, then you'd basically have to restore.  If you could, either post or PM me your log, I could take a look for you.

A good site for checking out processes (whether they should be running or not) is:

I tried to pm the log file but it is too big.  I may be able to post it here in the forum.  Not sure it that is ok though.  I have posted it to AumHa forums and am waiting for a answer.   I think the problems started with Weather Pulse, but I'm not sure.  I've had that program on my computer for several years with no problems until the last couple of days. It quit recognizing my zip code, so I uninstalled it.

Thanks for the link, I went there did the scan and found several things.  But you have to buy the program to remove them.  So sucker that I am, I bought the program.  Ran it and removed the stuff.  Then I clicked on update and it told me that my subscription expires today  >:(
The order page which I printed out said that I had bought one year of updates.
Any one have any idea about that?  I sent them a email but haven't heard back yet.  Did I just get ripped off?  I paid $29 bucks for the program and one year of updates.

Simple solution..or at least some tips:

1: Dont use IE...its FULL of holes and vulnerable to so many things its not even funny.
2: get Firefox. Its better security..runs smoother..never had a website hijack my browser since i got it
3: if you do want to use IE..(ugh) i suggest getting these few programs that are free..

AVG - www.grisoft.com/
Freeware security program and virus protection

Adaware - www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
More virus protection

Better versions of the programs can be purchased..but honestly in my opinion...get firefox.

For an analysis of your HiJack this results, copy paste scan results to this website:

I know it is not adware of a virus.  For the simple fact the search pane has changed in both of my machines.  The only place they both go is to pogo.  Other than that the old machine is turnd off.
I update the virus program and do a windows update on it when I turn it on.  I use it for those darn rated card games that have badges that I NEED.
I need a screen shot of the search pane the way it used to be in IE.  You know the one where you click on the magnifing glass on the tool bar and a pane opens on the left side of the screen.
Mine used to have like three opions for surfing.  Now all I have is one stinking line to type in and one search engine to use.  The old one would let me select next, to use the next engines results.  Now next is greyed out.
I have posted a hijack this log at http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=18482 and so far no one has tried to help.
The only search option I have now says find a web page containing.
