Not sure what you mean by brackets. If you mean like this they are needed to display your avatar and should only show up in your profile. ;)

Here's some better instructions for you.

Right click on the resized image and save it to your pc.
Go to https://www.imageshack.us/index.php
Click the browse button and find the pic on your pc
Click the host it button on the imageshack website.
Copy the url and enter it into your forum profile information
Save the changes to your profile
You are done. ;)

My signature is too small.  How can i make it a little larger and bolder.  i am not familiar with the codes to do it.  Thanks!

Put the text of your signature between [ size=12pt] and [ /size] (without the space after the opening square bracket) and you will get larger text.

Click on the help link of the forum. Go to the section on posting. There is a list of tags you can use there. ;)
