Back in 1995 if i remember right, did'nt the mariners only have 2 BIG time players(Ken Griffey Jr. and Randy Johnson) that helped them win that year? This is the present not the past lol which brings up the question,

Who are the Big bats for the Mariners right now?

I believe the answer to that would be Ichiro Suzuki (1 HR)  O0
Wrong lopez richie sexton betrain raul reed plus many many more want the other name just ask thought i would stop there

We'll look at your players you listed and analyze, but I'll correctly spell them.

Lopez .289 and 4 HRs...wow, huge bat there.
Sexson .275 and 3 HRs...he's doing awesome!
Beltre (I guess that's who betrain is) .226 and 2 HRs...those numbers are HUGE.
Raul (Ibanez is his last name) .297 and 3 HRs...wow, another big bat.
Reed .208 and 1 HR...clear a spot in Cooperstown with those numbers.

so Jim what your saying now is that the Mariners could really beat up  some good teams such as the Mets and the Cards with all of those star athletes they have? HecK, i would love them to take the Mariners out of that 4 team division and put them either in the NL central or the eastern division, They would never be able to keep up lol

Baseball is a TEAM GAME. Do u know what TEAMS means??? Everyone plays as a team hit"s as a team pitches as a team wins as a teams

Except when they lose.... then it's Eddie Guardado's fault

Amen to that Hippo!!!   and Jim I did talk about the Mariners as a TEAM i did'nt pick any certain player or players i said the Mariners as a team could NOT ever keep up with a team like the Cards,Mets, or even the Astros when their hot!

Who would you even compare on your team  that ranks not even close to the likes of Albert Pujols, Lance Berkman,Jeff Kent,Craig Biggio, Chipper Jones,JIm Edmonds just to name a few?

RowdyOne

since you said you compare your team with the glory days of the Yankees, How would your team do against the 1975 Reds?

they had such players as Johnny Bench,Tom seaver, Pete rose,Tony Perez,Dave Concepcion,Joe Morgan,George Foster,Cesar Geromino, even Ken Griffey senior to name a few.

Nope it"s still early :)) :)) Wow great game tonight went 13 and big richie sexson blasts  a hr 5-4 mariners win angels left 16 on base :)) :)) :)) and u all say the mariners can"t score runs :)) :)) :)) and a rain out in boston puts the mariners only 4 back for now depending on the outcome of the dh in june between the 2 teams tied for 3rd place now win tomarrow and the yankees should win tomarrow Mariners will only be 1/2 of a game out of 2nd so if we win tomarrow we basicly tied for 2nd place :) :;"

Maybe I'm missing the logic to this one. The Mariners are 2 games behind 2nd place Oakland. According to what I just quoted, the Mariners (if they win tonight) will be tied with the A's if the Yankees beat them tonight? Maybe I missed how they did things but wouldn't that just make the Mariners 1 game back if this scenario played out? Oh, can counting on a game that's scheduled for JUNE to determine if you're tied in MAY... can that really be allowed?

damn the mariners scored five runs and jims ready to throw a house party  :))

I need one of u Yankees fans to answer something for me What is wrong with randy johnson??? Is he old and washed up like the rest of your starters :)) :))

And yet, even with today's loss (and Seattle's win) the Yankees are still better than the Mariners... odd!  :))

Hay we won again today 9-4 and now in 3rd. If we win tomarrow we r in 2nd place O0

Congrats on the win against The Angels of Anaheim. Now you're in 3rd place in a 4 team division and unless you win the division, 2nd place will mean nothing because either BoSox, The Tigers or the Yankees will win the Wild Card. BTW: Oakland's winning the division when it's all said and done!

Tara

You guys act like baseball is already in playoffs ::)

Carry on.... ;:"
