Jeff Conine just got traded to Philadelphia.

Yay! It's only about 10 years too late. LOL Actually he'll provide a nice bat off the bench.

Pretty pathetic the Red Sox won last night considering the worst guy in their bullpen (Tavarez) was the starting pitcher. They won tonight too with Snyder starting, pitched 7 innings only giving up 2 hits. I don't expect them to comeback and manage to make the playoffs, but it's nice to see them finally string two wins in a row again.

Varitek, Nixon, and Alex Gonzalez will be coming back soon, all three are scheduled to play AAA this weekend. Varitek and Nixon played tonight, Varitek got a homerun, Nixon went 0-4. Gonzalez will probably play tomorrow or Sunday.

They've been really unlucky lately, even Papelbon got hurt tonight. Sad when you have Mark Loretta and Kevin Youkilis batting 3rd and 4th.

The David Wells trade was just plain stupid. He's been their best picture the past month. Beckett hasn't done sh*t, Schilling doesn't get run support, Lester and the other starter that's changing every week can only seem to go 5 innings. At least Wells was getting them into the 7th and 8th innings. Stupidest trade ever  >:(( >>:D

Oh, great. Breaking news just came on about the Red Sox.

Schilling will miss his next start due to a LAT injury.  This is getting laughable.  :))

getting swept by the yankees at their own park just broke the heart of the sox.  :))

Go Cavs!

So is he going to hit the Phillie Fanatic?  :))

Phillies acquire 1B Simon from Texas

September 1, 2006

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Philadelphia Phillies acquired first baseman Randall Simon from the Texas Rangers for cash on Friday.

Simon, suspended for three games in 2003 after hitting one of the Milwaukee Brewers' sausage mascots with his bat, last played in the major leagues on Sept. 7, 2004 with Tampa Bay.

"We don't have no hot dog mascots here," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said, laughing.

Simon started the season in the Mexican League and was playing for Triple-A Oklahoma. He hit .308 with one home run and 10 RBI in a combined 24 games between Oklahoma and the rookie-level Arizona League Rangers. He's a career .283 hitter with 49 home runs and 235 RBI in 514 games.

Go Cavs!

#1114
So is David Wells going to beg Mike Piazza for his #33 back? I know Jason Varitek wouldn't let him have it.. Geez Dave Winfield should let Piazza wear his 31.
But note to this, on Padres roster that Wells will wear a # to honor Roberto Clemente.

So how about them DODGERS? those trades really work.

nice to see the yankees come from behind tonight.  :P

Hesh

I love sports in general but I have to pick baseball numer one head and shoulders above the rest. I know a lot of people find it slow and boring but there are so many things going on all the time. For example, something I learned in little league, lol, watching how pitchers throw differently depending on the hitter, men on base, etc. If you watch all the little things going on it's a lot more fun.
