Yankees manager Joe Torre is on the hot seat and could lose his job soon. Joe Girardi is my pick for new coach.

I think it'd be stupid if they fired Torre. I'm not just saying that cause I'm a Red Sox fan either  :P

What they need is a new pitching coach. Pitching (Mainly their starters) is the only thing that's causing them problems. There's only been like 6 or 7 games this year where their starters have gone 6+ innings, which completely sets back their bullpen. Even last week against the Red Sox, their bullpen was so badly worn out that they had to put Pettite in for a relief inning!

Torre has been with some of those players for years now. Jeter, Posada, Mussina, Pettite (Although he was gone for a few years), Rivera etc. I wonder how they'd deal if Torre left? Torre's been through everything possible with that team.

It's nothing new for the Yankees to start the year terribly either, so I don't get why their fans are overreacting. If they're still playing like this come June, then there's a problem. I remember two years ago Torre was in danger of losing his job, then all of a sudden the Yankees started winning again.

If the Red Sox sweep them again  :^* , I really do think they will end up firing him though.

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Cardinals are mourning the tragic death of pitcher Josh Hancock.

The team was informed by the St. Louis Police Department that the 29-year old hurler was killed in an auto accident within the city limits.

Cardinals' manager Tony La Russa then informed Hancock's father of the tragic incident. Major League Baseball has already postponed the team's game against the Chicago Cubs scheduled for 8:05 p.m. (et) on Sunday night.

Hancock, who was single, had been a member of the Cardinals since February of 2006 and helped the team to its 10th World Series title last season.

The reliever was 0-1 with a 3.55 earned run average in eight appearances this year.

In parts of a six major league seasons, Hancock was 9-7 with a 4.20 ERA in 202 games with Boston, Philadelphia, Cincinnati and St. Louis.
