Just found some more info ..

Footage of the fatal blow while Mr. Irwin was snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef – is being viewed only by state police preparing evidence for a coroner's inquiry in Mr. Irwin's home state of Queensland.

His manager and friend John Stainton said Tuesday that the footage shows Mr. Irwin pulling a poisonous stingray barb from his chest before losing consciousness. The internationally famous "Crocodile Hunter" was dead within minutes.

Mr. Stainton said it was "terrible" watching video of his friend's death.

"It shows that Steve came over the top of the ray and the tail came up, and spiked him here (in the chest), and he pulled it out and the next minute he's gone," Mr. Stainton told reporters in the north Queensland city of Cairns, where Mr. Irwin's body was taken for an autopsy.

"If ever he was going to go, we always said it was going to be the ocean. On land, he was agile, quick-thinking, quick-moving, and the ocean puts another element there that you have no control over."

Police said the video of his death showed no evidence that the Crocodile Hunter had threatened or intimidated the stingray as he filmed scenes for his daughter Bindi's new television show.
Nothing spoils a good story like the arrival of an eyewitness.

First let me say that I loved watching his show. But, he took way too many risks and I'll bet even he knew it was a matter of time before he got careless. I definately think he should have been more careful especially when he had kids. Now they have no father. Just my opinion.

Just to be more clear. I will absolutely miss him, his shows were so much fun because he was fearless. I only meant that maybe he should have thought more about being a family man and take fewer risks. But I really doubt that a guy like him could live a slower life, he thrived on the "juice".
