I loved playing with snails when I was a kid and I still get upset when I see that someone has stepped on one but I cannot fathom the thought of even trying a single escargot at the best French restaurant prepared by the best French chef and served with the best French wine.

I played with them , too.  I will, however, dip my bread into the garlic butter that comes with escargot.
