BOTH THE AUTOS DON'T WORK PROPERLY...WHILE USING JIGSAW 6.4 IT DOES THE OUTER FRAME QUICKLY AND NICELY BUT NEVER SEEMS TO IDENTIFY MORE THAN 1 OR 2 INSIDE PIECES .... WE UNDERSTAND THIS WORKS FOR MANY BUT THAT IS NOT CORRECT...IT SHOULD WORK FOR EVERYONE..AND IF SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE ISSUES WITH ONLY AND ONLY THIS AUTO MAINLY...I THINK YOUR SITE SHOULD WORK ON IMPROVING THIS AUTO AND IDENTIFYING THE PROBLEM....PLEASE DELETE THE OLD AUTOS AND MAKE BETTER ONES PLEASE...TY

So you would rather rant and rave instead of seek technical help?

If it doesn't work for you don't buy it.

I had a problem with the Jigsaw autos initially also.  Once I adjusted my PC to their requirements, the issues went away.

It is really important to remember that other programs and additions to your OS can cause the autos to react oddly.

It is frustrating to purchase the autos and then discover they aren't working for you.  Just remember ... all PCs operate differently.  We change their environments with each program we add to them.  We change their configurations and settings to accommodate our wants and needs.  Don't take it out on the programmers.  They can only do so much and as much as we want them to ... they just can't customize each and every auto to meet our individual needs.

The problem with the Jigsaw autos is that people fill their OS's full of stuff. They install everything under the sun and have 20 things that load up on startup. That eats up all your available memory.

Please keep in mind, the jigsaw game itself takes up over 100MB of memory. If your computer does not have 512MB memory, the jigsaw game is going to be stored in your pagefile / swapfile (on your hard disk).

The pagefile is 100x slower than "physical ram". The game is going to lag and mess the timings up in the auto.

It's impossible for the programmers to "custom" make autos to suit everyones specific configurations. These autos are made on Windows XP with nothing else running in the background / have nothing being loaded up during startup.

The jigsaw game uses A LOT of system resources .. so if your computer is 5+ years old, chances are it won't work for you or only work partly.

Thankfully, it appears that this is the only game that uses that much ram / system resources. The rest of the autos are like 99% compatible with everyone.

explains a lot.  I would think that is some key info they should put on the jigsaw page on bh.

My puter is old & outdated but I keep it maintenenced & take good care of it the best I can.  I have Win ME & can't use all the autos but lot of em do work for me so I can't complain, I'm very happy with the autos that do work on this ole thing  :))  I think the programmers do an awesome job at making these autos & getting em out for us as fast as they do.  Thanks guys!!!   :/\ :-*

That's exactly what I learnt about running Jigsaw Detective, turn off all unnecessary programs and such while running that auto including anything that does real time scanning.  The only thing on my taskbar while JD is running is my wireless connection.  That auto works beautifully for me, I don't have any troubles with it O0

Just a note..I'm one of the lucky ones Jigsaw has always worked for.  I love it..no complaints.

Mayhem, Oscar or anyone technical,
How do I know what I can safely turn off under my " Processes" tab?
I definitely turn off all  " Applications" which is easy as pie, but I am not familiar enough with the 46 startup Processes to know which ones are safe to turn off and still have a stable, fully functional computer.

I have a large amount of physical and video memory, a fast processor, good ATI video card, etc. and an overall good PC notebook, but there are times when I have wondered if some problems related to some of the autos was because of all the System Processes running automatically.

Is there a way to know what it essential and what's not? Also, is it safe to play on Pogo with AV off?

Thank you!!!

Lily

I am having trouble with the Jigsaw auto, I have purchased this a couple of yrs ago, the first one worked perfectly, but since then I have not been able to get it to work properly.  Could someone explain to me what needs to be done.. to use this auto.  What it does now it gathers all pieces (including the draw pieces)  and then nothing.

Window XP Home Edition is my OS..  Any help would be greatly appreciated... :OO

I have a fast new computer with loads of memory, never run anything other than pogo and the game player and have continual problems with this player, I play medium have the sound turned off etc.  It loses pieces in the game and cannot recover on it's own.  I love all the players these guys make but don't understand why this happens each time.  I clear my cache after every game using window washer etc.  <?>

P.S.  love the icons... these are a riot

Hello
On  Jigsaw Puzzle, I have learned that it may work with SUNJAVA,Or it may not.
I switch over to JIT and I will tell you the auto rips away with no problems
Just try it..... It is not the Auto at 6.4 and also use IE or FireFox M
I hope this is some help and you get the Auto running.
Good Luck....
