In the past I've made a salad using raw broccoli crowns, dried cranberries, diced red onion, pecans and poppy seed salad dressing.  It's very, very yummy but I'm wanting to do something a little different.  I'd like a recipe for a broccoli slaw and I'll use the same poppy seed dressing.  Any ideas?

we usually make a broccoli salad with broccoli crowns, raisins, red onion, bacon & sunflower seeds. If it looks good when I'm shopping, I'll buy cauliflower to add. We usually just use mayonnaise to bind it, but poppyseed dressing sounds good - think I'll try that next time  O0

The Poppyseed dressing is slightly sweet so test before you use it.

Which part of the broccoli should I shred up?  The stalk?  That is usually very woody and has a very strong flavor, so I wasn't sure.

chop the broccoli into florets for the broccoli n cauliflower salad  O0

In our grocery store where they have the prepackages lettuce can find broccoli slaw all shredded .  I think it's just the broccoli that is shredded like the lettuce that can by in shreds.
