Does anyone know how to get java updated on windows vista. I have a standard edition of java and most of my pogo games are having troubles playing i have tried to update the java and it brings up and error everytime anyone else having theses kinds of troubles thanks teresa

Hi Teresa,
Here is a link for the latest java: http://www.filehippo.com/download_java_runtime/. You can also get it at java.com, just make sure it says version 1.6. The filehippo link will take you to the exact download, all you have to do is click on "download now" in the upper right of the screen. Also, after you download the new version delete the old ones by going to control panel-uninstall programs and uninstall any older versions, (probably 1.5) and reboot your puter.
Hope this helps!  O0

sorry that didn't help. i had problems with some of the games too. if your autos work with most of the games than it's pogo. they've been very slow upgrading to meet the vista/java updates.

think im having the same issues here..

On my old computer i had microsoft java for IE6 & AOL... when i installed Netscape i needed to get SUN java...... all was well till old computer crashed..  >:((

So I got a new computer in Februay (with the dreaded vista), it already had sunjava installed.. I installed AOL and AOL is using SUN for java.. then i installed NETSCAPE for a 2nd browser and it too is using SUN.

all was ok till they started messing with Texas Hold'em...

Now I cant get tabls to load on IE7 unless i clear IE cache and clear Java cache then re start my computer.. then i have to load the new NO LIMIT or the old Texas Hold'em on IE first and wait till i have a table open.....then i can open Netscape and load a room and table....
and that only way i can double browse on those games ( i tihnk there are some other games too but i use Netscape 90% of the time so it hasnt been an issue.... of course i can double browse with Netscape and AOL but with any click on AOL game window the Netscape get hidden behind.... just a click to get it back in front but im doing the NO LIMIT rank 49-50 and i just hate to have to do any extra clicking.....

I know i should look into getting a 2nd java for IE and thats what im search for now...

saw this topic and had to add some of my woes.....

Here is MSJVM

MSJVM

Ok Homer i installed the java today, and heres whats happening, maybe you know what will help me here..

I installed it and i went to my IE7 and unselected the SUN java. i went on pogo to play a game, it took a little longer to open the game (but i expected that) I am using windows Vista so it asked me to except the applet. I got in and played game fine. Just as a goof i tried to go back into the same game and it again loaded slowly and asked me to except the applet thingy.

I never had this issue on IE6.. so i am not sure if is the IE6 or the Vista. I dont mind the slower times to install the applet thingys i just dont know why it isnt saving the applet to my "objects" folder on IE7 like it use to save them on my IE6....

Also, i am using AOL 9.0VR and i assumed went i made the change in IE7 to use the MSJVM it would automatically change it for AOL (like it use to when i was using IE6) but i had to go into internet explorer options thing through AOL setting link. (you see it brings me to the same place as if i went directly through IE but it showed SUN still active)

so i unclicked the SUN in the AOL thing and restarted AOL like it suggested and it was still showing as selected. I tried making the changes on my main AOL account also with the same results... I also tried to make the changes on my computers admin name and it still didnt change the AOL setting to uncheck the SUN java.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.... i know i ramble senselessly but i think i got the jist of it across.... no major rush for a responce, cause i dont have a big issue waiting the few extra minutes it takes to load things, but i would like to get it squared away so i can get back to normal playing and cheating on pogo like the rest of us..... lol

thanks in advance

Homer

MSJVM only works in IE

To get rid of the popups go to your pogo profile and make sure you have install games to enabled.

ICER

Old Fart..from what I read on your posts here..you want to double browse..got new PC  with vista...why go through all that trouble with different java's,browsers, etc..just use the browser Smart Explorer. just my opinion 8)

ImJustOneOldFart

Icer, the thing is i got a new computer in Feb and ran aol, IE & Netscape (all using sun java) at the same time in the same room and the same table at pogo..... now problems everywhere.....

before i added msjvm, IE wouldnt load games on my club name but fine for non club names....

just so much crap now... all was fine till May when Pogo started messing with Texas Hold'em. For all i know it could have been damn update for windows or something...... those damn things always seem to screw me up.....

I have thought about that smart explorer thing, but still not sure if i want to DL it or not....

just bugs me that MSJVM used to save applets in IE6 Objects folder and wont do it on IE7... that would solve most of my issues if i could get 7 to be more like 6.....

Homer, you're my new hero.......

Ok, so I check my "enabled" games thing and it was already set to enabled.... Just as a goof i changed it to "disable" and tried to load a game. TUMBLE BEES since i have been having an issue with that one. Wel as expected it took 30-45 second to load (which is a little longer than normal for me on DSL) i played a game and got to the glitch and it worked fine (no freezing..... wooo hooooooo) so i closed the game window off and clicked to enter a room again. well the room loaded faster than it ever has before for me... I believe that "disable & enable" has to do with the applets (that help load room faster) if im not mistaken. Well the load time was nothing in comparison to the freezing issue i was having with aol and IE7 for some games....

I know you said "makes sure it is enabled, but im still giving you full credit for pointing me in the right direction to find pogo happiness.  O0

id say if anyone is having issues like i was.... maybe disabling that thing might be the quick fix......

im really happy now....  :/\ :<< :> :; :{x :-{ :{ :!! <..> :!# :D
