I dont know if this means anything or not...But....I did a scan check of spyware.....and twice Pogo's addy...www.pogo.com came up as spyware....also when I logged in to pogo them came to this site...a message in the bottom right corner said.."system change".

Is It possible pogo has spyware ?

tokiehog

i have been getting spyware from pogo ever since i started playing on that site over 3 years....if something don't work remove the spyware and usually it will get going again until i get the next load from them...my anti virus catches spyware on the way in so i get to see where it is fromfrom every 100 i get 99 of them come from pogo...my cheats would run real good if not for the spyware...i think they work overtime to screw up our games.... :;'

Pogo doesn't place spyware on your pc. There are laws against that. You are probably getting the warning due to your cookies being turned on. Cookies are merely text files that are placed on a user's computer by Web sites that the user visits. Cookies may contain and provide identifying information about the user to the Web sites that place them on the user computer, along with whatever information the sites want to retain about the user's visit. They do not install trojan horses or malicious code. They do not monitor keystrokes or steal your credit numbers.

Best bet is to stay off those ****o sites (thats the cause of most cookiee problems)..those sites can give you spyware, malware, femaleware, dogware, etc.  better off buying a magazine! ;:"

Not sure but I believe cookies must be turned on or pogo will not run.

tokihog..was just an expression..but a fact that those sites do indeed give problems to PC's.

As for cookiee's  you can delete all if you wish  might clean up your PC a bit.
As long as you know all passwords for all web sites you go to.

At top tool bar..click on tools  then internet options..under general tab you will see Browsing history..there is a delete button..will delete all cookiee's, passwords, temp files, etc. (most are junk)  and make it all clean..make sure if you do this..you do have passwords written down for all sites that you need passwords for!

There is a related problem to spyware, but it comes from the EARLY Pogo to Go ( download for $20) games.
IF you have a fairly old download of a To Go game, you may well have downloaded a Trojan which redirects your PC browser and otherwise causes trouble. It is called virtumundo.exe in its older form.. has a newer name on Symantec Response site but I don't remember what it is.

Pogo has fixed the problem in that all the downloads from Oberon Media are now scanned with AV, but most of our AV software did not catch these malware codes imbedded in the early pay for play games. I had a PC with Casino Island and it was infected.. I paid, but never played because although I got rid of the malware, every time I started Casino Island up, my PC was re-infected. And I was running a full security suite with Norton at the time.

McAfee finds it and gets rid of it, but Norton didn't do a very good job.
Not sure if this is germaine to the discussion but it is a way that " Pogo" ( actually its affiliate Oberon Media) has affected computer performance with malware from a site download.

Again, this was specific to the early Pogo to Go games ( now called Downloadable Pogo, I think) and has been remedied within the past 12 months.
I paid $40 for 2 games which didn't work though- that one and MahJong Garden to go. Mahjong doesn't give me token payouts for games played like it's supposed to. I finally got mad and sent it to the recycle bin too.
I don't think very highly of Pogo Download games unless there are BADGES involved, as a result. :)

Well that would certainly be a problem but any file downloaded from the internet should always be scanned with AV software. Norton has never impressed me and I can't stand Crapafee. I get my stuff from trend-micro.

Homer,
It was scanned, as I always have a full security suite running. However, Casino Island to Go was offered for sale initially before most AV scanned for malware in downloads. Viruses, yes, malware, no.

badgebabe i am running a secure system also i use panda av ....most of the time i have trouble getting pass panda...it keeps everything out...even stuff i want in...i dont get the spyware from pogo because panda catches it tryin to get in...but i sure get notified that it s trying...the only download game i have is the poppit show after i got pass panda to play it ....but that is finished now....as long as we don't sit and figure out what it cost us per year to play pogo we will be ok...i love gettin badges....still it is a fairly cheap addiction....lol :;'
