Yes, that is the total users that has been on the site today (it resets at 12am PST every night)

It's not 100% accurate .. it should be more than that but we only count unique IP addresses.

AOL users share the same IP address so it's only counting them as 1 person.
Nothing spoils a good story like the arrival of an eyewitness.
