Beginning with today's "media cattle call," Rex Grossman is in for a long six-day workweek.

Really long.

(Although it might have been worse for Reggie Bush if New Orleans was there. Imagine the media herd demanding to know how he felt about taking a pay cut when he left Southern Cal.)

Grossman won't be grilled about what he has done as much as what he might do -- be a colossal failure. Of course, the Super Bowl has had some terrible losing quarterbacks before. David Woodley anyone?

But just for kicks, have you considered Grossman could be awful and still win? Chicago has the better defense. Chicago has the better overall special teams. And winning Super Bowl quarterbacks have not always been Joe Montana mounting the game-winning drive while waving at John Candy in the crowd.

So that's the question, kids. Who has been The Worst Winning Super Bowl Quarterback Of All Time?

Here are some candidates that might surprise you:

Terry Bradshaw, SB IX -- Pittsburgh 16, Minnesota 6. This may have been when his hair fell out. His passing was 9 of 14 for 96 yards and a touchdown. Trent Dilfer numbers.

Joe Theismann, SB XVII -- Washington 27, Miami 17. Even with two good legs, Joe was just 15 of 23 with 2 TDs and 2 interceptions. But he was playing against Woodley, so it didn't matter.

John Elway, SB XXXII -- Denver 31, Green Bay 24. Elway's "winning" numbers were 12 of 22 for 123 yards, no TDs and one pick. But Terrell Davis rushed for 157 yards and 3 TDs, turning Elway into a legend.

There you go, three outstanding candidates. They all could be TWWSBQOAT -- but they're not. That honor goes to:

Bob Griese, SB VII -- Miami 14, Washington 7, and SB VIII -- Miami 24, Minnesota 7. Yes, Griese is the easy winner due to two rotten performances. In SB VII, the Dolphins were able to finish a perfect season due to the "No-Name Defense," not Griese's 8 of 11 for 88 yards with one TD and one pick. And the next year he just handed the ball to Larry Csonka, who rushed 33 times for 145 yards and 2 TDs while Griese completed 6 of 7 passes for 73 yards and no TDs.

So what can Mr. Grossman learn from this page out of Super Bowl history?
