And then move Rivers, Roethlisberger, Vick, and McNair down a few places.

And move Romo all the way down to the very bottom  :)) :)) :))

Trade Talk: Eagles' Donovan McNabb for Bears' Lance Briggs
Posted May 20th 2007 2:11PM by Michael David Smith
Filed under: Bears, Eagles, NFL Draft, NFL Gossip, NFL Rumors, Chicago, Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Inquirer today floats one of those trade rumors that we all know isn't going to happen but is fun to talk about anyway: The Eagles sending Donovan McNabb to the Bears for Lance Briggs.

Inquirer columnist Don McKee calls the trade "the inner thought of one of the area's most sage football observers." He notes that Briggs is unhappy as the Bears' franchise player and that McNabb is unhappy that the Eagles drafted quarterback Kevin Kolb with their first pick in last year's draft. That would make the two players switching places a sensible solution.

Of course, there are all kinds of reasons that it wouldn't be sensible. There are salary cap ramifications, for one thing, which are usually conveniently overlooked when it comes time for trade speculation. And trading McNabb now would put the Eagles into rebuilding mode even though there's enough talent on the roster to contend for a title this year. So, no, this isn't going to happen. That doesn't mean it's not fun to talk about, though.

I come from Chicago, and I dont see why the Bears need Donovan Mcnabb. I think Grossman is fine the way he is. It was just his first full season, and he did pretty good.

Don't know if you guys have heard Redskins Clinton Portis's remarks regarding the M Vick deal but here is what he said, or local TV station played the interview(cause he's a FORMER Gator) wish he wasn't!

On Michael Vick's dog fighting operation: "It's his property, it's his dogs. If that's what he wants to do, do it... It can't be too bad of a crime. There's a lot of stuff that's crimes, you know. It's killers on the loose over here and you want to hunt down Michael Vick over fighting some dogs... I'm sure some police got dogs and fight them, some judges got dogs and everything else."

here is a link to an article that came thru google alerts-

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The body of New England Patriots player Marquise Hill was found Monday, a state official said, a day after he was reported missing following a jet ski accident on Lake Pontchartrain.

Hill's body was discovered by searchers about a quarter-mile from where the former LSU star and a female companion were involved in the accident, Capt. Brian Clark of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Department said.

"The family will have to make positive identification," Clark said, "but the body we found was that of Mr. Marquise Hill."

The Coast Guard was called Sunday night, Petty Officer Tom Atkeson said. The search began immediately, using boats and helicopters.

By the time the body was found, the Coast Guard, Wildlife and Fisheries, the New Orleans Police Department and Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department were involved, Clark said.

Hill's body was taken to the Orleans Parish Coroner's office, but phone messages left there were not immediately returned.

Hill's agent, Albert Elias, said he had been told Hill and a young woman were jetskiing Sunday in the lake when both of them went into the water, which had a strong current. Elias said the woman was able to make it to a pylon and hang on until she was rescued, while Hill was last seen floating away from the scene.

Hill played on LSU's national championship team and was a second-round draft pick by New England in 2004.

"We are all shocked," Patriots owner Robert Kraft said in a statement.

The woman, whose identity was not available Monday morning, was rescued and sent to Tulane Medical Center where she told them Hill had tried to keep her calm as the two were drifting away from each other.

Neither Hill nor the woman wore a life preserver, Atkeson said.

"It's so important to have a life jacket and a signaling device," Atkeson said. "One keeps you afloat and the other helps us find you."

Elias said Hill, a defensive end, spent much of his time since Hurricane Katrina helping family members rebuild their homes.

Feds detail alleged dogfighting operation
Vick's property, but not his name, cited in court documents

By D. ORLANDO LEDBETTER
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 07/06/07
The Surry County, Va., home owned by Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was "used as the main staging area for housing and training the pit bulls involved in the dog fighting venture," according to court documents obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Friday.

The documents, a Verified Complaint In Rem, seeks the forfeiture of approximately 53 pit bulls seized from Vick's property in April at the start of a dogfighting investigation. The documents were filed in the U.S. District Court in Richmond on Monday. On Friday, federal investigators executed the second sealed search warrant in a month at the property.

The documents also state that when federal investigators from the U.S. Department of Argiculture executed a seal search warrant on June 7, they uncovered the graves of seven pitbulls.

The documents do not mention any names but refer to a group called "Bad Newz Kennels" that knowingly sponsored and exhibited pit bulls in fighting events from 2002 through 2007. The documents indicated that dogfighting occurred at Vick's property at 1915 Moonlight Road, as well as other locations in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland and New Jersey.

Urban Dictionary lists "Bad Newz" as the street name for Newport News, Va., Vick's hometown.

VICK IS INDICTED

Falcons quarterback Mike Vick has been indicted on multiple charges by a federal grand jury in Virginia.

The charges are, per ESPN.com (which not long ago declared Vick was unlikely to be indicted), "conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities and to sponsor a dog in animal fighting venture."

Three others were indicted as well -- Purnell Peace, Quanis Phillips and Tony Taylor.  Phillips' name appeared as a contact person on Vick's K-9 Kennels web site.

Sorry, Homer, I didn't see your post!
Michael Vick indicted by federal grand jury in dogfighting probe

July 17, 2007

AP - Jul 17, 6:00 pm EDT
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury on charges related to illegal dogfighting.

Vick and three others were charged with violating federal laws against competitive dogfighting, procuring and training pit bulls for fighting and conducting the enterprise across state lines.

The indictment alleges that Vick and his co-defendants began sponsoring dogfighting in early 2001, the former Virginia Tech star's rookie year with the Falcons.

It accuses Vick, Purnell A. Peace, Quanis L. Phillips and Tony Taylor of "knowingly sponsoring and exhibiting an animal fighting venture," of conducting a business enterprise involving gambling, as well as buying, transporting and receiving dogs for the purposes of an animal fighting venture.

Telephone messages left at the offices and home of Vick's attorney, Larry Woodward, were not immediately returned.
A woman who answered the phone at the home of Vick's mother said the family knew nothing about the charges.

On July 7, federal authorities conducted a second search of the Surry, Va., property owned by Vick that is the center of the dogfighting investigation.

According to court documents filed by federal authorities earlier this month, dogfights have been sponsored by "Bad Newz Kennels" at the property since at least 2002. For the events, participants and dogs traveled from South Carolina, North Carolina, Maryland, New York, Texas and other states.

Fifty-four pit bulls were recovered from the property during searches in April, along with a "rape stand," used to hold dogs in place for mating; an electric treadmill modified for dogs; and a bloodied piece of carpeting, the documents said.

During a June search of the property, investigators uncovered the graves of seven pit bulls that were killed by members of "Bad Newz Kennels" following sessions to test whether the dogs would be good fighters, the documents alleged.

Members of "Bad Newz Kennels" also sponsored and exhibited fights in other parts of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey and other states, according to the filings.

On Vick's Web site, he lists his birthplace as Newport News, "a.k.a. BadNews."

The documents said the fights usually occurred late at night or in the early morning and would last several hours.

Before fights, participating dogs of the same sex would be weighed and bathed, according to the filings. Opposing dogs would be washed to remove any poison or narcotic placed on the dog's coat that could affect the other dog's performance.

Sometimes, dogs weren't fed to "make it more hungry for the other dog."

Fights would end when one dog died or with the surrender of the losing dog, which was sometimes put to death by drowning, strangulation, hanging, gun shot, electrocution or some other method, according to the documents.

Vick initially said he had no idea the property might have been used in a criminal enterprise and blamed family members for taking advantage of his generosity.

Vick has since declined to talk about the investigation.
