You do not even have to win the round (or the game) to get credit.

If you play just to make matches and to not drop stones your numbers will be higher.

Playing by hand I was averaging 40 to 50 matches per round; the auto on the other hand plays to win (obviously) so progress will be slower.

Or if you don't want to concentrate at all you can try this trick that someone mentioned in a room I was in.

1) Set your level to beginner.
2) Put your stone in the far left shooter.
3) Aim your pointer to the right wall as close as you can get it to the bottom red line.
4) Then shoot as fast as you can.

You'll average about 10-15 matches every 10 seconds instead of 40-50 matches every 2 minutes... If I am correct in my math that's more than double the matches every 2 minutes.
