Hello,

I have IE7 and the pop up blocker turns on by itself.

Let's say I am playing in a Pogo room and click to see my stats, it will block the popup.

I hit the top of that page to turn it off and everything is fine.

Let's say I have my auto running and go back to check 2 hours later, the pop up is back on.

I have even hit  TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS> PRIVACY tab> Uncheck "Turn on Pop-Up Blocker">APPLY>OK

After some time, it will turn back on.

Any suggestions, this is really irritating me?

I do have Window Live 1 Care, but I see no where in that program that says it will turn on pop up blocker.

Please, any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Tara

I wish I knew the answer to that. I have IE6 on both computers and one does that and one don't.

Go to Tools in Internet Explorer 7, then click on Internet Options.
Go to Security tab.
Select the Trusted sites zone.
Click on Sites on launch the panel to manage trusted sites.
Key in the specific site that you want to trust and allow all pop-ups including script-generated input dialog boxes to the text box for "Add this site to the zone". If you're viewing the website that you want to trust, the URL link location will be shown automatically.
Click Add when done. Note that if the website is not encryted with SSL, you need to unclick (unselect) "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" before you can Add the normal http: websites.
The website should listed on the middle box Website listing.
Click Close and then OK to exit.

Thanks Tara for trying, hopefully Homer's idea will work.

It really sucks.

(and even screws up autos, as when the popup is blocked it puts up that little window and disables the play of that window)

Runner,

Notice how he helps you and not me?  :)))  I guess he's mad that I didn't share my tacos with him. :)))

My pop up blocker is not an add on. It is part of IE7

Runner

Thanks again Homer!

I tried it out in spades and it appears to be working.

Another reason I stayed with IE6. Microsoft products tend to have a mind of their own.  >:D

My bane of existence is that my browser windows keep changing their size when I open it. Sometimes it's full-size and sometimes it is smaller; dunno why that happens but it's really annoying.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

It turned back on by itself sometime during the night!!!!!!!!!!!!

IE7 is miserable!  It's like AOL 7-9 were.  Slowly but surely they started taking over your computer and not giving you the opportunity to take back control.  I know that sounds dramatic, but it's true!  By the time 9 rolled out, they had taken away the option to not allow AOL to load automatically when Windows starts.  You have to go into the control panel and manage it there.  AOL was writing itself into so many different places even their own techs couldn't help you remove it.
IE7 is the same way and with each new rollout, you'll have fewer and fewer options and less and less control.

Sorry you're having these problems, Runner.  Hopefully it will be resolved....

Now, just a thought.....  are you sure that it's IE and not you're AV or firewall?  One of my McAfee versions a few years back, when doing an auto update would turn off the firewall and then turn it back on and set to default settings.
