hi all i wonder if someone could help . i am running aol ( :-[ ) and everytime i go online for more than 10 mins aol becomes non responsive especially when i try and download something , i have just totally re-formatted the pc thinking this would help ,i have searched for spyware ,viruses , trojans , etc . i dont get an error it just freezes up , and when i put up my task manager and go into processes their are 2 things that have become non-responsive ,,(waol.exe , and explorer.exe ) i have aol 9 and broadband , but even with aol 9 it is supposed to re-connect me but nothing happens i have to  switch off manually on my tower , any help would be greatly appreciated , as aol live help sucks big time , ,,they come up with the same old answer , un-install my aol adaptor  :-\

Do you have enough physical memory to run the version of AOL (I'm guessing it's 9.0)
I'm using 9.0 and don't have any problems with it freezing up.....have you called AOL Tech support about your problem?
Maybe 8.0 plus would work better on your system?

yes dj , i have 384 ram , i also tried aol 8 for alittle while aswell but still done the same , i called tech help and all they were interested in was me upgrading to 1mb broadband ,, i,ll list everything i have tried to solve this problem : un-installed my aol adaptor ,, deleted my global.org files , re-installed my aol and broadband drivers , searched for spyware etc.etc ,, cleared caches etc ,i,m also in the midst of reducing my hardware acceleration a notch at a time aswell ,, i have had aol 9 for a while but this is the first i have  had this problem its getting annoying now ,, lol , after re-formatting i thought this would solve the problem , but hey nothing comes that easy lol ,  :)

I've had problems in the past when I reformatted that for some strange reason my system wasn't running like it should have. May I suggest doing another recovery and make sure everything but your keyboard, mouse and monitor is unplugged. I know it's a pain in the ass, I've done as many as 3 recoveries to get my system to run right.  :-\

Did it work?
BTW if you already have broadband why are you staying with AOL?  That's just more money being thrown out that you don't need...  Your broadband provider is your ISP, not AOL, so why keep your account active?  :-\ Seems like a waste to continue support for the Army Of Losers...  ::)
