I just went to firefox site you may have to configure your security software to let firefox work ......thats what it says in the help section anyways

BabyCheetah

Noppers, that didn't work either.  Now going to try HillBillyJim's suggestions.  Keep them coming peeps cause I have no clue how to fix this.

I have WebRoot as my computers security system.  I looked through it and the only thing I found was turn on Gamer mode and I tried that still nada.  This is really pissing my off.  I don't understand why I can't get it to work.    girls18.gif girls18.gif girls18.gif swear2.gif swear2.gif swear2.gif

I have Firefox 3.0.3 and it's wanting to download 3.0.8 or something like that. The first one works great, so I'm not letting it update.

I have more problems when Firefox Updates.

Baby, have you tried to download Mozilla SeaMonkey? It's newer than Firefox and it works great. Same company, both are Mozilla.

Baby,

My Firefox is version 3.0.10 and I refused every request from my computer to update my Java to update 7, I have Java Standard Edition 6. The last time I let it do the update I had problems. I hope you get things working again.

Here are a couple of links for you to try:

http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using+the+Java+plugin+with+Firefox

The third one down refers to the plug in for Java.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7

There are other browsers you can use to DB. Opera is one, Seamonkey and Flock. I have used all of them because I double-double browse, sometimes, Good luck. Look and see which Java you have, ok?

If aint broke dont fix it.  I don't update either unless something stops working.

  if fire fox will start

   1. Start Mozilla Firefox browser or restart it if it is already running.
   2. Select Tools > Options.
   3. Dialog box: Options
   4. Click content > Select Enable Java and java scipt

this might fix it.... if not got to this page        http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+will+not+start

they have a forum to get help on but not open now probably only open during the day

what happens when you try to start firefox?

I start it and it runs and I can do anything on the inernet but play pogo.  I go into a game in pogo and all I get is the beginning screen where the game is loading and then nothing.  I've even let it run for like 5 minutes to see ifthe game would appear but nothing.

I checked and I have everything enabled.

Ok, so here's the update...Firefox is a bust for whatever reason.  I downloaded seamonkey and it seems to work.  I haven't tried DB'ing with it but I just loaded a game under my name and it booted right up.  So I should be all good.

Thank you Thank you Thank you everyone who tried to help me with this pain in the tushy issue.  You guys/gals are great.  I even baked cookies for you great peeps.  Hope you enjoy.

Thanks for the update and the cookies!  I DB with SeaMonkey all the time. It's "lighter" on the system than FireFox so that is a plus as well.

Who knows why FireFox stopped working for you. It quit on me when I got my Vista laptop, then after a few months it suddenly started working again. Go figure. Now I refuse to update until I know for certain no one else is having problems.

girls22.gif  GREAT, I'm so glad you got straightened out, good for you ...  (and ty for the cookies, just delicious)!!

I am still on FF2 because the 3 version never seemed as stable.......better to just turn off automatic updates and wait to see how many people complain about bugs before doing it on your computer  undecided.gif
