You're right, mjmusiclover. Often times we judge without knowing all the facts. I think it's just human nature to do so. I think there was enough information out there to show that he was abused, but being abused does not justify or explain away making bad choices.

There are any number of people here on this forum alone who have suffered abuse of one form or another and do their best to be good people and live productive lives.

I'm thankful for my belief in a God who knows exactly what is in our hearts, and who knows if we are using the abuse we received as a free pass to be a$$holes ourselves.

We will never know the truths or falsehoods surrounding MJ, but I trust in God to be a fair and loving judge.

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Pop star Michael Jackson's death was caused by lethal levels of the powerful anesthetic propofol, according to findings by the Los Angeles chief medical examiner unsealed in court documents in Houston on Monday.

Dr. Dombrowski said the drug is so powerful that it is critical to have someone in attendance who has the ability to rescue you should your breathing cease or some other critical failure occur, which is why the drug is only used in operating rooms and in doctor's offices where providers are on hand to support patients and intervene should something go wrong. "It is never used outside a medical setting during a procedure," he said. "And it is never used as a sleeping aid. I've never heard of that in my 16 years of practice."

A source told the site that the drug is so inappropriate for home use that if a doctor supplied it for Jackson or helped inject him with it and it caused his death, he or she could be prosecuted for manslaughter.
Nothing spoils a good story like the arrival of an eyewitness.

I am wondering why this information came from Houston and not L.A. My son is a Medical Examiner in the state of CA and even they don't get why the news came out from a completely different state.

Isn't it because the family hired this ME? So they could really hire anyone they wanted, right?

This all is coming out of the same place that the doctor had a business before he worked for MJ and I think if this was the L.A. Coroners office this statement would not have come out just on paper. It would have been done with cameras in front of North Mission Rd and some sort of statement about who and what. Just seems like someone put the info out without the usual procedures.

Alot of people are abused, misunderstood,etc....he was a musical genius and he made very poor decisions about his health and welfare.  I am not a cold hearted person, but I am in the medical profession and have seen what drugs (prescription and illegal) do to people when they are misused.  Anytime you have a drug cocktail consisting of the drugs they found in his body from toxicology reports, it is surely going to do considerable damage internally leading to multi organ failure.  Most of the time, it is the heart that gives out.  But you have to realize that some drugs metabolize through the liver (like alcohol, for example).  When you abuse alcohol over time, eventually you end up with diseases like cirrhosis, liver failure and eventually death of the organ.

Here are some other names recently affected by drug cocktails that ended up dying:  Heath Ledger, Anna Nicole Smith, Billy Mays....just to name a few.

I don't feel sorry for these people as they were the ones who made the conscious decision to allow these poisons into their body.  Whether it was for chronic pain from illnesses or stress and anxiety from having a demanding schedule, it is still a poor choice made on his/her part.

Maybe it was wrong to mock and make fun of his death.....but we all have our ways of coping with the world's tragedies.

hocky, all of those including MJ were parents. That alone should be making a difference in how they take care of the only body we get on this planet.

When I saw this thread had been revived I thought, "Oh crap! He's not dead anymore."  panic button.gif   Whew. What a relief to see I was wrong.

The coverage is not dead and probably won't be for a long time. I turned to the tvguide channel yesterday to see what games were on and they were showing a made for tv film "Man In The Mirror" above the channel guide.

My dad is at the end of his rope with all the coverage interupting whatever it is he watches. He said "I'm so pissed if the bastard wasn't already dead, I'd shoot him."

But then I thought, wouldn't that just start the whole, viscious cycle of unending coverage all over again?   undecided.gif

But at least then he wouldn't have gone out as a disappointing parent. I am good on forgiveness unless it affects children and then I am brutal.
