Pogo gems

Hi. Well, you see I was just wondering if it was possible to like give gems as a gift to someone and if so, can some please get me the 30 gems thing? I am extremely broke right now and it's only like $2.13. T^T

We are <b>all</b> extremely broke right now. I bet you could afford gems if you get rid of your costly cell phone or something else like getting nails done. We are all making sacrifices on things that are not as needed in order to maintain our Pogo jones. These posts remind me of the guys who stand in front of the mall with their HOMELESS signs while they are wearing leather boots.

It's one thing to ask/beg for a pass....It's another to ask/beg for something that costs people money. Do you make it a habit to go up to perfect strangers and ask for money? If so, perhaps you can stand outside with a sign and actually put some EFFORT into your begging.

This is a very friendly forum who welcomes new members with open arms....however, your very first post was to ask for something instead of maybe posting in the introductions thread...or maybe joining in on some of the...ohhh i dunno, thousands of threads covering thousands of topics.

In other words...you get out of this forum what you put into it. Get to know people..make friendships...then perhaps you might get some sympathy from your money woes.

By the way...to all of my friends on here.......can you all gift me a pass/pogo badge albums/and anything else you can gift me? LMAO

I don't mean to come off as a sob story here but-

6 months ago I had a job making 21.19 an hour, with vision, medical, dental and a nice 401 k.

Fast forward 6 months. Hubby has had 2 strokes, in a power wheel chair and home bound full time. I have to haul him EVERYWHERE. 3 days after his second stroke, I get called into an emergency meeting at work.

Company was filing for bankruptcy, everyone lost their 401 K. Everything they had. To make matters worse, 2/3 of the work force lost their jobs. 350 employees, (including me) lost their insurance coverage as of midnight that night and we had less than an hour to pack our desks before being escorted to the parking lot by company security.

To make matters worse, the company fought everyone's unemployment and it took every one of us that was laid off that day 7 weeks before we saw our first unemployment checks.

I've been reduced to flipping burgers 20 hours a week at $8.55 an hour. Hubby, luckily got SSI on his second try. Took me 4 months, but finally got medical insurance through my states low income insurance plan. It's for people who make too much to qualify for medicare/medicaid but too little to afford it on their own.

I've gone on over 50 interviews in the last 4 1/2 months. I've only gotten called by for a second interview once.

We have just enough to cover our house payment, medications, food, utilities, car insurance and our medical insurance premium. Our credit card bills aren't getting paid because well....after what we have to pay for housing and food and utilites, there's nothing left over for them.

I was about to not renew pogo at all because we couldn't afford the $40 until this subway promotion came about and I've won 3 years worth. I have 280 gems left over that I bought $20 worth a couple months ago when I had the extra money.

Our ONLY, ONLY comfort/fun item we have is Netflix. That's it. That and pogo is our entertainment.

My point is-we are all broke. Some of us are more broke than others.

$1.99 ($2.17 with tax) for 30 gems isn't that hard to come up with. $1.99 is the cost of a 2 liter of soda. Yes, you may have to wait till the first of the month, or you may have to wait until pay or you have extra money for gems. A lot of us have to put off buying gems for a week, or a month before we can buy the albums and gem items we want.

Quit friggin mooching!!

I don't expect a hand out. The only thing I expect from pogo cheats is friendship and a good time.

I hear ya... 4 months ago I was nice and happy working for a wireless telecomm company..won't say which one but it rhymes with SPRINT (lol)...Then come the layoffs....went from making 30 bucks an hour down to 12 which is the job I start on the 14th of september. Luckily, I was able to sock away quite a bit of money which has fed me and my family in the meantime.....times suck for everyone right now in some way or another. We all just have to make do I guess until things get better. If I had the cheddar, I'd get you some gems but Pogo doesn't let you gift them. I know, i tried to get my mom some a while back but just got her a badge album instead. Keep your head up and just keep swimming.....just keep swimming.

treading water.......treading water! I have a mere percentage of what I had 5 years ago but I am happier. I think we find out from being tested what the real gems can be. Nothing ticks me off more than seeing people waste money. I can't begin to tell you the anger I get when I see that Octomom STILL has her nails done. But I cut corners where I can and prioritize to get what I can. I have a land line and no cell phone and still know there are ways I could cut corners if need be. Both jamrow and roadwarrior have learned that you gotta pay your dues.

Beggars totally disgust me!!!! No,,,NO and no i wouldn't ....won't and never will buy you gems !!!! If they are "only like $2.13 then save that up or recycle something or count up your change and buy your gems yourself. Shame on you for even asking this question let alone thinking you are the onlly person that has hard times right now !!!

Twinkle, are you of an age to remember the old show Queen For A Day? This type of post reminds me of that show where women would try to one up each other with a pitiful sob story. My mother loved that show but it made me cringe. As do people showing up in the forum just to beg.

LMAO! I love readin ur guys post! I agree with u guys. ALOT of us r goin through hard time but that gives people no right 2 ask 4 a hand out! I have 2 kids & work 3 jobs just 2 support us. Its not the best but its better then askin 4 a hand out. It makes me wonder what the hell people r thinkin!!! This is a awesome place 2 meet & make alot of awesome friends but doing it like that isnt gonna get u far! Hope every1 has a kick azz day & ur all n my thoughts & prayers

I've been reading this forum for about 2 years and ive been a member for 1 year and i really don't post alot as you can see but i think that was very tacky

to just ask for something on your first post.sometimes i have to wait a full month and longer before i can buy gems.We all are going through tuff times.
