I dont have any friends in real life and you all on here are the closest thing I have to friends.. especially Joe who helps me out with badges and others who respond to my post.

But I am really worried about another test I have coming up and knew you all would be here for me. I dont want any boohooing and worrywarts..just positive feedback as I am not feeling very positive.

Let's start by saying my sister just had her 3rd surgery for breast cancer on Thursday.

Late last year about Christmas time I found a rather large lump and told my other sister. Well she bugged me daily until I finally made an appointment. Well a mammogram, ultrasound and another ultrasound later... I was sent for a MRI. The nurse called me to schedule my MRI and I said you are mistaken I already had the MRI done... she said no this is for your next one.... needless to say I was dumbfounded.

This Thursday I have to go for a MRI guided biopsy and I am scared to death. Cancer runs rampant in my family and as much as I don't think I have have it... a little voice says ....but you have to prepare yourself if you do.

Not sure why I am explaining all this... just hoping for some positive thoughts and lotsa hugs.

Sue

Forgot to mention that the reason for this 2nd MRI is that they found a cluster.

Been down that road too many times to count myself.   i think i have every scan possible  on numerous occasions.  My Mother is a 20+ year breast cancer survivor.  i know that dread feeling but having felt it so many times I just dont let myself go there anymore.  You know the cluster is bad but keep in mind finding calcuim that is 50-50.  You will never have cancer without  that present but you can have it and not have cancer.  And many great advances have been made in the treatment area.  The one thing that most women dont get is give the full mascetomy a good think over.  From personal events over the last years and friends and family that have dealt with it sometimes the removal of just the lump is not good.  My Mother had that choice and clse to have the total breast removal done and she is still here.  i dont know if you are young are not but remember your breast defines you as female not as a person. You the female you just one of many  You the person thats unique and worth everything .  Do whatever you must and remember you the person not you the female.  Good luck and keep us updated. And my favorite motto Dont go fretting till you got something for sure to fret about.  Prayers for you

Good luck, Sue!!!

It is hard to face things like this. But take support wherever you get it. tumbsup.gif

Cancer runs through my family too, Sue. My maternal grandparents died of cancer at really young ages. My mother was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of 28. Now, I have to have blood work done every 3-6mos for my thyroid, and I myself have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. My paternal grandmother had breast cancer twice. Luckily, they caught it in time. I check my breasts every night just to double check. Also, with me selling Avon, I contribute to the Avon walks every year. Not to mention the Relay for Life. Keep your head up, and have faith in God. We're all here for you, honey.

Sue...I have put you on my prayer list and will call my church sisters and put you on the prayer chain tomorrow. My mother in law was told 2 years ago that it was 99% positive that she had colon cancer. With the power of prayer, imagine their surprise when they got in there and found the mass to be pre-cancerous. She is going for a biopsy tomorrow for breast cancer, which they have again told her they are about 99% sure she has. I have faith that she will come through this as well, just as I believe God will take care of you! embrace.gif

Thank you all for your thoughts and ideas and hugs.

I am home and still sedated somewhat.

Will be in pain when the drugs wear off but I am doing ok so far.

Wont know the results until next week.

Thanks for the hugs.

The drugs were awesome yesterday but when all the la la land drugs and the local wore off..... I was sore.

Here is something HOMER may find amusing since he is a boob man...

the nurse had to hold my boob for ten minutes after the procedure was done to stop the bleeding.

Since Thursday  I have slept more than I have in the whole month of February.

Sleep is a good thing.... generally I am lucky to get 3 hrs at a time.

I am a tiny bit tender.... bruised fairly bad and still tired.

Thanks you all.... for caring about me.

Last night I got the phone message from my Doctor too late to return the message so I emailed him since he had offered that as an option on surgery day. He emailed me back earlier today and this was his response....

"Glad to inform you the results are benign. I will want to perform a follow-up breast MRI in 6 months. I am out of the office this week. My nurses will contact you with an appoinment for the MRI. Call me in the office monday with any questions.
Regards
Dr. Z"

Glad to hear it.. By any chance have you been told you have fibrocystic disease in your breasts.  I do and have had alot less trouble by  getting off caffine.  It wasnt easy but it worked and I have had alot less trouble.  Before I de caffed I had 6 lumps all but 1 disappeared and had to  be surgically removed.  I periodically have problems with cysts but those  are easily taken care of in the surgeons office.  You might have luck with it to

prays the lord--i knew it would be good news--because god helps those who ask for it and believe in him.  wow good news finally from the world of bad news.  homer will be happy now.
