It is not a stupid question. I asked you why you would want to keep formatting your computer. Formatting should only be done if absolutely necessary and as a last resort. Insulting me will not get you any answers whatsoever.

BTW, I did not jump down your throat. I asked a question. Trust me, you don't want me jumping down your throat. I have no tolerance for ignorant people.

I don't have a beef with formatting. Formatting should only be done when absolutely necessary it is not recommended as a solution to computer problems and since you don't want to share any info about why you want to keep formatting I can't offer any possible easier solutions either.

You are getting bad info. It is not necessary to format your hard drive to clean your registry. There are plenty of free programs like http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html that help keep your computer running smoothly

Homer, it's a wonder you have ANY patience left, lol.

Squid

Wow, this thread made a couple of curvy turns.  Homer gets the patience award on this one, that's for sure.  It cracks me up that someone asks a simple, reasonable question and the reaction to that question is completely unreasonable!  God bless you, Homeroooo!!

I may be a pc dummy but I have a 10 year old desktop that runs really well still and I have NEVER done a reformat..Is that normal? undecided.gif

It sounds like you did it right, gran.  System updates is NOT a reformat.
