Norton security help..

A few weeks ago my norton security 360 had an update which i downloaded..ever since then i am having trouble opening a lot of my programs,i cant open any of my autos for the games,and i cant even open my firefox or microsoft works...every time i try to open one of them a box pops up and asks what program i want to open them with,when i check internt explorer,it goes right back to the beginning again...can someone offer me some suggestions on what i may look for to solve this,i probaly have to go in and check or uncheck something but im not that computer saavy,so any help is appreciated..thanks..

A few days ago I installed a trial version of Norton and it last about 2 hours before I installed it. Massive issues

yesterday i was able to do an online chat with a rep from norton,and they straightened out the problems for me,something to do with the registry..im able to open all my programs now...

I can hardly wait for my Norton subscription to run out. I spent hours with the help department and they emailed all information to whoever does the fix it stuff only to get an email from them asking for the same information that was sent to them the day before. I mailed them what information I had that I could answer and my number that I was given for my "issue". I have not heard a word from them since and the problem is still here and I will not purchase from them again. I only have a couple more months to go and then they will be uninstalled and cancelled and I will be using a new anti virus program that you pay for one time and it is good for life of computer. I will save money and be happy to be rid of a company who takes your money and doesn't provide customer service to fix their issues.
