I stoped using hotmail long ago. I got tired of typing  in username@hotmail.com
and the password. beside I got sick of the interface. Yahoo suit my needs as a web based email account just fine

They used to be seperate. I don't know now.

When I had MSN as my ISP I had a @msn email addy

I think hotmail is just the free version of email from msn.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe @msn email is a POP3 and hotmail is strictly web based

hotmail and msn are different..
i have 3 hotmail accounts,, 1 msn account,, 2 yahoo's  and gmail  :P

how do you get an msn account?

go to www.msn.com ,,  click sign in and it says    "Don't Have a .NET Passport?
To continue, you need to sign in with a Microsoft® .NET Passport. "
and click register.

if that doesnt help, if u have xp click start bar and msn explorer and do it that way
