Opening IE

Hello, im having a problemwith trying to open e-mail & trying to download a game & a cheat. Wheni hit run, a message pops up saying  canot find the site or try again later & on top of message shows num,bers , exe. /Its so hard to understand this for me as this is the 1st time it has happened.Something has changed or needs to be changed & i dont no what. any help i could use PLease.

I'm sorry I'm not able to help you Missy hunny ... but I did hear on the CBC news tonight that there's a problem with Hotmail .. (kind of sounds like it's either on it's way out or maybe just not up to snuff).  Is that what you're using? ... I've transferred all my "stuff" over to another mail provider .. just in case.  But hopefully, someone else that understands your problem better than me will come in and help you ... you're sure in the right place for the best kind of help there is .. Are you trying to open up an attachment from an email, or click a link within an email? If so, I'd recommend you not do that. If an exe has been sent to you through email, chances are good it's a virus or malware.

You'll need to clarify more...if you are separately having trouble accessing your email and having trouble also downloading a game and downloading a cheat, or if it's all the same thing.

I would run a virus and malware scan on the computer.  you may  have a bug in there somewhere.  It may take some time to find the little devil they can go deep.

Hotmail if fine but Microsoft is eventually switching all hotmail users over to Overlook.com, which is supposed to be great.  Email addresses will not change.  @hotmail.com will still work but, I guess, will be rerouted to outlook.com.  Maybe there are issues with the conversion?  Dunno.

Thank You for all your respones, but i found out  what the trouble was later in evening. My Virus protection was stopping me from opening some links in e-mail which i have INcredible mail & from downing cheats or games . My mail goes to Hotmail which will soon be Skype by next month they say & is routed to Incredible mail. I dont use Outlook ,so Squid , i wont be using Overlook .com as u posted, in fact i havent seen those words at all yet. But tks for telling me. I  do a update every day & a Scan once a week. What my daughter-in-law did for me was Shut off Virues protection & did a Restore on puter & then everything came back as it was. I was soooooo happy, as i cant live with out my puter LOL Im homebound most of the time & playing games from BigFish or Pogo & posting here & another site is my fun. WE live in the Country with only 4 houses & a church out here & no grocery stores & i hate it. Im a City Slicker , like traffic going by & other ppl. living next door  etc. But on a fixedincome ,i cannot get a place of my own. Again i TYTY all for trying to help & surely will ask again if i need Help, caues i love this Forum.

Glad it all worked out.  I am always amazed how something changes on a computer and you never really know how it got changed.

Harley, im also amazed how 1 day everything is working fine & next day the puter has changed& then i get stressed out.I say what happened here as i didnt change or hit a wrong key etc. I would be lost & go crazy with out my puter as i think most of us do when they break down. This is a great Forum & so many ppl. willing or trying to help someone out. & Ken or Mayhem, is a great person to me as well as Homer who gets picked on, & i get a kick out of those posts to him  LOL  Joe & Squiddy,& others willing to help also. Its too early & i cant think of all the names .
