Lindsay Lohan is facing jail time as lockdown rehab is apparently nonexistent in New York.
The 26-year-old Mean Girls actress pled no contest in a Los Angeles court Monday to misdemeanour charges of reckless driving, lying to authorities and obstructing police from performing their duties while investigating her June 2012 car crash in Santa Monica.
Lindsay struck a deal with prosecutors to spend 90 days in a locked rehabilitation unit in her native state of New York and perform 30 days of community labour instead of being sent to jail.
TMZ reports that a number of rehabilitation centres in New York as well as an official from the agency that regulates treatment facilities in the region have confirmed that lockdown simply "doesn't exist" there.
This information has a huge negative impact on Lindsay's future, as apparently California prosecutors based their deal on her defence attorney Mark Heller's word that she will not be able to exit the premises.
It is now rumoured lawyers may rescind the agreed upon plea deal.
"The sentence was actually 90 days in custody, and lockdown rehab would satisfy that," a source explained to TMZ.
"If there's no such thing, then she'll go to jail for 90 days."
Lindsay, who has been to rehab a handful of times, has a history of leaving facilities. She reportedly snuck out of Cirque Lodge in Utah during her stay there and allegedly got into a physical altercation with a Betty Ford attendant in a separate incident.

wow.  Just wow.  Matter of time before she does longer than a handful of hours in a holding cell.  If she does take her self out via booze or pill overdose let's all pray she doesn't take any one with her.
Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the paramedics
