EXCLUSIVE

It's Lindsay Lohan's worst fear ... doctors at The Betty Ford Center have cut off her precious supply of Adderall -- and now, she's hell-bent on making her escape.

Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ ... doctors at the rehab center evaluated Lindsay this week and decided she does NOT need her Addy pills, despite Lindsay's claims she suffers from ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).

We're told Betty Ford's doctors almost NEVER give anyone over the age of 15 the powerful drug, because the docs believe there are plenty of substitute meds for ADHD that do the trick without the addictive qualities inherent in the drug.  And, we're told, the doctors are well aware many people -- especially Hollywood types -- misuse Adderall as a weight-control drug.

Here's the immediate problem ... Lindsay is telling her friends she CANNOT stay at Betty Ford and wants to be moved to another facility that is not hard-nosed about Adderall.

And this sets up yet another crisis, because it seems inconceivable Judge Jim Dabney and prosecutors would ignore the Betty Ford doctors and trump their diagnosis by letting Lindsay make a move.

poor baby.  *WHINE*

Here's the problem-she has the right to change rehab centers.  It is within her right to choose where she goes for medical care.  HOWEVER, she has a court order to stay put.  If she does change centers, it could very much look like she's left rehab, before the required 90 days.

I have ADD/ADHD whatever it's called.  Addral is often a "last resort" drug.  The trend with ADD/ADHD treatment now, unlike in the past where you hand the parents a bottle of pills and that was it-is becoming a multi prong approach.  The focus is becoming more on behavior therapy, learning to live and work around your ADD/ADHD, learning to keep notes, learning on how to focus on long term tasks (like breaking it down into super small bite size chunks) and using your disability more as a "gift" than a curse.  A good therapist will see that pills are more of an after thought or "small part of" a complete treatment plan.
Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the paramedics

This girl is doomed.  Being hooked on Adderal is part of the overall problem.  She's never going to be serious about getting well.  Her money will run out, the Hollywood/Celebrity community will one day tire of her and she will be one of those sad stories about child actors who could not make the transition into adulthood.  Who knows?  She might become another Dana Plato, God forbid.  I'm feeling pity for her.  Sorry... I am.
