I checked my stats just for the heck of it. and I have

blackouts----177

wilds passed---25, 299

I ranked out in this one long time ago and only play when I have to.. bubblegum.gif

Oh I know a challenge when I see one! I, too, only play if there is a badge attached. And I traded doing someones Pictureeka for them getting my 25,000 wilds cute Wild Mushroom Badge. I might have cheated but I have the most so far.

Blackouts: 219

Wilds Passed: 25,930

Squid

A challenge, you say?

BO:  199
WP: 28,640

I guess I have to start playing this game again?  I intensely dislike Bingo.

MsMissy

oh, im so happy for all of you that have ranked out of Bingo. As for me, I haven't & only play that game if it is called for a weekly, as I don't care for it & it puts me yoo sleep/ I find it boring too.  LOL     coffee.gif  hi11.gif

Oooch!  Right in the family jewels.  I seem to be in the lead for WP but not for BO.  The challenge is ON!   blink.gif

Other than the room, luck. I've been playing quite a bit the last week or two and find it's luck. If you go into the "passing room"(s) they all try and get bingos on the wild lines, so you get tons of wilds, but blackouts are frowned upon. If you are trying to finish a badge and don't mind pissing a few people off, you can try one of those rooms. They won't know it's you blacking out, unless they pay close attention to the bottom text telling the room who blacked out.

I do find I get more bingos in the passing rooms even without blacking out though...if all you care about is the bingo numbers.

I guess I don't understand this.  I'm not "going" for blackouts, they just happen sometimes, but could any one explain why blackouts would be frowned upon?  I don't get it... thanks

People get upset about players getting blackouts because more often than not you have to hold back wilds in order to have them to place where they're needed to get the blackout, which means you're not passing those wilds to other players.

Hence the blackout rooms. Pogo came up with those after much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth from players.

Also, you are using wilds to cover spaces that don't generate wilds going to other people.  There are NO RULES stating that in passing rooms you cannot go for BOs.  People decided to create their own rules and bully other people into doing what they want.  Ignore them, as I did.  I played in passing rooms and passed wilds in passing rooms but did not necessarily use the wilds to generate others, depending on my objective.  Turn off chat to ignore the nasty comments.  They're rabid in those rooms.

I am so "with you" on this.  Can't I just play the game without all these made up rules... cheesy.gif
Don't you just want to say "BITE ME"  but I can't risk getting banned ahahahahah

It's my opinion that if you know what the passing rooms are for, and you don't want that to be your objective (such as blackouts instead) then why not choose one of the other rooms anyway? You don't have to turn off the chat, all you have to do is go into another room. It's dumb to specifically choose rooms where you KNOW the "rules" and know you'll get feedback you don't like...when there are dozens of other rooms to choose. That's the true problem actually.

I'm not one to talk to anyone in any room. I never chat unless directly spoken to and then it's as brief as I can be.  So if blackout people come into the room, oh well, I don't really care. So, hey, do what you want but to me it's creating your own drama for no other reason than you think you have the right to. It's pointless.

Some people love...dare I say, LIVE for drama! Whether creating it or being the victim of it. Those who sit and complain are just feeding their drama hunger.

When I was going for blackouts, I would sometimes go into the passing rooms because I got more wilds that way and got more blackouts.  You're allowed to go for blackouts in the passing rooms.  People who got nasty in those rooms just wanted things their way.  No one was breaking any rules.  I had an objective and passing wilds helped me get there faster.

That's all well and good, but some people go into the passing rooms simply to antagonize the other people there. Bragging about blackouts.

An example I can think of off the top of my head, is like driving on the freeway. It's common knowledge (and courtesy) that if you are driving the speed limit or under it, you shouldn't be in the far left lane. Is that a law? In most states/municipalities, no. Does that mean you should do it anyway, simply because it's not against the law? I guess if your purpose was to be an a-hole, then yeah, you'd do it anyway. And those people passing you honking and giving the finger? They are just nasty people that want things their way. It's their fault, not yours.

You were going for a blackout badge...understandable and like I said, if you have no objective and you want to blackout in a passing room, great, go for it. I'm more talking about the people that do it on purpose JUST to get a rise out of those that do have the common courtesy to be in the room for the purpose of passing wilds to others, and not to antagonize.

And with that, anyone that wants to reply gets the last word. I'm not going to change anyone's mind anyway, so no point wasting my time. I just had to disagree with the general consensus being formed by everyone. Carry on. :)

I lost a Pogo buddy because of the whole Black Out issue. I could care less but she said she could not hold her tongue (fingers) if someone did one. She could not understand that I do not care! When I play for any badge requiring BO's I just post in chat that I am working on a BO badge and that I am shutting off my chat so I am not going to see or respond to their comments .... so comment away! I have anger issues (that only started in the last 5 yrs) and do not want to be baited because I have to respond. And I have to admit that I have gone for blackouts just to tick off the anti BO people.

I guess I should go to "how to play".  Usually I don't pick a room, I just click "Play Now" and let the chips fall where they may.  If I am looking for a certain kind of win for a badge I try to pick a room with zero players.  I don't chat with anyone either, just begging for trouble.  I remember when chatting was a fun thing to do.  There were about 8 of us that would gather in a solitaire room and we had a great time really got to know each other and a few of us met in person.  Those days are gone.

And EVB is not a game played with zero players cuz you need someone to be passing you wilds!

I have no problem with people that blackout in passing rooms. It's when they actively brag about it in chat that it bothers me. If I notice 4 or 5+ blackouts in a single game or someone is bragging about it, I just find another room. Life is too short to argue on the internet. :)

I go in the fast lane all the time on my way home from Disneyland. On the way there the fast lane always has someone like you mention above and it is just too frustrating looking for a place to get over to the right, pass the slowpoke and get in front again. And I don't flip anyone off cuz you never know who is "holding". BUT.... sometimes I will forget my turn signal is on cuz I listen to my music quite loud. When I realize it, I always justify it by thinking how all those people behind me were feeling so superior to the idiot with the turn signal flashing away.
