i keep getting a pop up from my anti virus about some threat : win32/DH{OTY}. not sure what i should do. i looked it up but not really sure if it's a virus or what. has anyone else seen this or know what it is? any help would be great.

I assume you are using AVG?

Looks like posting on the AVG support forums is the best way to get an answer. win32/DH is a trojan, usually, but can also be a false positive it seems. Especially with AVG.

If you are not using AVG, post which one you are using.

yeah i have AVG. i'm starting to wonder if it's good or not though.

I don't use AVG, but I'm pretty sure Crazy Man and a few others here do. Hopefully they will chime in with some help, since they are familiar.

I use AVG but am not familiar with this problem.

Nope, never touched it or any free antivirus. I have always had Norton 360

AVG Free = Free warning threats. Which are real and which are not?  fart.gif

Had nothing but false positives with AVG, darn near drove us bananas here.  They want you to BUY the full version and I didn't find it much better!
At least with Norton 360, if it grabs something it doesn't understand you can go get it back if you really trust it.
But I find for the most part, Norton 360 doesn't give you constant unnecessary false positives like AVG.
