Walmart is changing it's name by dropping the word STORE after it.
And is making it one word instead of the Wal-Mart way of spelling it.
Say they feel it fits into the online view of the direction they wish to go.

Do we really care about this?  hysterical.gif

I better get back to bed. Need sleep.  yawn.gif

I hadn't heard anything about this.  I don't get it...

I haven't either, but Google shows this was announced 2 days ago :

After 47 years known as Wal-Mart Stores, the world's largest company said on Wednesday that it is dropping "Stores" from its name in a nod to how much important e-commerce is to the business as it continues to compete with Amazon.com. The change goes into effect on February 1st.
Nothing spoils a good story like the arrival of an eyewitness.

TY for finding this info to help explain it more.

Glad I wasn't dreaming and posting and this was for real.  giggle2.gif

You're welcome!

Walmart is still facing an uphill battle, it's pretty hard for anyone to compete with Amazon right now. Jeff Bezos (CEO of Amazon) has a net worth of a 100 billion.

Now I just need a time machine to go back to 1997, when Amazon first went public at $18 per share ...

I hope that time machine of yours is a two-seater because you'll have to swing by and pick me up.  Just sayin'...

Heck yeah.....add me if you can too.

I can't even get my head to imagine how much money that is for real, in hand.

$100 BILLION DOLLARS!   inlove1.gif
