The new Microsoft Edge browser is no longer in beta and is now available for download.

"Microsoft Edge browser is now powered by the same technology as Google Chrome, providing best in class web and extension compatibility".

------------

If you would like to test the new browser without overwriting your old Edge browser, download the developer edition.

Download the "Dev" (middle) edition.

I had a pop-up, Missy, telling me the upgrade was available but you shouldn't have a tough time finding it.

The bad thing is it replaces the old EDGE so getting it back is turning out to be a big PITA

Sorry, I wasn't aware of that. I'm still using the developer version of the new Edge - and it's a separate install.

I should also mention that in the Windows 10 spring update (April), windows update will automatically update your old Edge browser to this new one.

I figured it out, first I had t uninstall edge, then do a registry tweak to run them side by side because Microsoft hides and disables the old (Legacy) version, then I had to reinstall it and now have both. I also did another registry tweak to keep windows from updating it. I then uninstalled the beta since both are the same version.

Ok, glad you got that all sorted out!  tumbsup.gif

help.gif   Do any of you know how to completely delete/remove/block AdChoices from Edge. I installed the new version of Edge a few days ago and even before that the ads all came back. (I had a feeling something must've been coming up soon regarding updates - why else would all the ads come back.) I had had them blocked after watching a Youtube video but it no longer works and nothing else wants to work either. It seems Windows and Edge have found a way to keep ads running no matter what. I really liked not getting ads.  swear2.gif

It only took me a hour, lol

I bet! Just remember that this new version is going to overwrite your old one eventually .. not sure if anything can be done to stop it during the big April windows update.

AdLock is a pay-for service. I was hoping to find something I could actually afford since I'm broke. The site claims it's Slovakian.

Thanks. I had already done the Google/Bing type searches and found nothing useful.
