I didn't say it was a proxy server... I said through a proxy computer... There is a world of differnce between trying to tracert me through a global proxy server than tracing me through a proxy computer that i have set up on my own...

Heck if its a challenge you are looking for Sirs, I'm all about having you try to track me down... Tag this IP... I can even give you my proxy IP and let you just have at it... :-)

And if I am protected correctly, no matter what equipment you have, no there is no way to track me down... Sorry but if I shut off all my ActiveX and Java controllers (with a properly configured proxy) there wouldn't be a way to even grab my IP...

As for being paranoid of EA and of P, you really don't have to put as much worry into it as you are... EA and P are both American companies that have to follow the rules and laws of the American country...

Though that may be true, after what I've seen them do and try to do to us, I don't doubt what they might do... It's not what you would expect from a company like that.

Totally true... Would-be Script Kiddies, the US Gov, Microsoft... All of the above freak the hell out of me...  I enjoy my privacy...

Not if the proxy computer(s) I am using is one of my own design... If you want more of an explanation of this, sign up for a Hushmail account or give me your PGP public key and we can talk about how I have my setup configured so that it is very, very different from a proxy server...

Maybe I am and maybe I'm not... I know how cracks and patches work... I understand Assymbly and Hex...  I know the warez scene pretty well... But who's to say that I'm not just well informed of computers, programs, security designs of programs, keygenning, and reverse engineering?

I'm not trying to be a dick... Just letting you know that there are ways to protect yourself from being found by anyone... Regardless of how smart or well equipped they are, you can still retain your privacy...  That's what its all for, for me... Privacy and gaining knowledge of computers...

As DJ has stated earlier he used to know jack-squat about computers... Then he took the initiative to learn them himself... That's really what I do is about... If you want to learn how to build a computer yourself, you don't just sit there and stare at the box all day... That doesn't help you to understand how the innards of a computer work... You have to bust that box open and start playing with the seperate pieces... It works the same way for I.T., I.S., C.S., C.E., and E.E.

If you want to really learn to program you don't just sit there and stare at programs... You bust them open and start looking at their innards (as best you can with a Hex Editor)... You want to start to learn Information Tech, or Information Systems, then you have to go out there and learn and understand exactly how your system works and interacts with other systems across the internet...

And so (in closing of this long rant...) for me this is all really about learning... I've been burned (with my challenges of "find my IP" etc etc etc)... But really I can promise that I am safe and sound... Its all for my piece of mind... And if I feel safe, then I'm really not worried about anything else that anyone has out there...  *nix SysAdmins or other wise

If you get someone's real IP it's as good as finding their address, phone number, name, and a bunch of other stuff. All of the information is out there. It's perfectly legal to look it up.

They could do just as much damage (with your IP) as you could if you knew where someone lived... An IP is no more than an adress...  Now if you chose to break into someone's house

I went on to explain in further posts that you can't track me as well as you think you can...  You called me on it, and I stepped up... I also said that if you wanted further info on how I have my proxy computer(s) set up if you gave me your public key for PGP then I can give you mine and we can set up a very relaxed conversation on the setup of the servers... As to the nature of them, I'd rather not discuss them on an open public message board such as this (thus the need for PGP)...  I would really be more than happy to describe the setup to you, it just has to be in a protected environment...

But if you still want to explain on how you can grab my IP then by all accounts... Tell me how you would go about doing it... Heck if you pointed out some weaknesses to me, then more power to you...  I would love to hear how you would go about grabbing my IP though...
