It's indeed lovely that they cut the costs on powerups from week to week.  My question however is, why these particular powerups?  Just because there are powerups, if the games aren't played regularly, or challenges not issued, why would they be purchased?  If, Pogo Universe, we are offered challenges in games over and over and over again (Snowbird, Home Story, Quinn's) why can't there be more frequent sales in those?

This is a pet peeve of mine.  I am not a fan of needing the powerups, I wish I had a magic wand to make the very difficult moves in some of the challenges, but I am about the badges.  I just wished the ones I need to buy to help with the goals were offered as often as the really difficult challenges are offered.

That's a good question. These sales usually line up with what the current weekly challenges are.
