Uh excuse me but only Cowboys fans actually believe they are "America's Team" I don't exactly remember there being a vote on the subject.

The Eagles already have a storied franchise history including the famous 1943 merger between them and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The new team was known as the Steagles. This was necessary due to the shortage of players due to World War II.

I have attached a pdf for you to read about the history of the Eagles.

btw what have the eagles ever done in the nfl ,their cheerleaders look like men in drag anyways.

yeah texas stadium blows, new stadium in the works.
and the cowboys do suck this year but the franchise has been at least a super bowl winner,so i guess they can talk the talk, unlike some franchises ::)

Uh if you think the cheerleaders look like men in drag you obviously haven't seen the lingerie catalog on the Eagles website. :P ::)

if the eagles do something in the modern era of football as in win a superbowl i guess i will give them kudos.

i believe their championships were before the league became known as the NFL,and back then there was what 12 teams at most? not sure,im not gonna knock the eagles i guess just dont see where the cowboy bashin comes in because all know the dallas cowboys have done way more then philly when it comes to football, there is no comparision.

bob@pogopal

Hmmmm, the scarce supply of truly great football players was concentrated in only 11 opposing teams, and you think this somehow diminishes the accomplishment?!?

I am not a big fan of any sport, but even I can see a major logical flaw in what you posted.

truely bob theres no logic involved, its like comparing apples to oranges.
the debates always come up,todays teams/players versus yesterdays teams/players.
the population of today versus yesterday(meaning alot more people are not going to make a team because they are not good enough/even though theres twice as many teams, not counting the size of todays players so in essence- no comparision.) no logic needed.

championships, really i did not think a championship pre-nfl days mattered, for 1 had no idea the eagles even won anything and i am a big sports fan.
wasnt brought to my attention until homer posted on their pre-merger championships.maybe they will be like the sox and win something in todays modern era.kudos if they do but they dont compare to dallas so my meaning for even replying to the post was to put my view out there.

and the lingerie catalog on the site lol

ps: they will never be the dallas cowboy cheerleaders either [Admin edit: Image removed.]

The Cowboy bashing originated when they proclaimed themselves "America's Team" :o

Leave the Eagles aside for the moment. This disgust does not solely lie in the laps of Eagles fans. I'm quite sure if you asked fans of other teams about their views on your loved Cowboys you would get much the same opinion. The NFL is a regional based sport in most major cities in the US. So for the Cowboys to have the audacity to proclaim themselves as being "America's Team" has rubbed many fans the wrong way.(Including me) Another reason the Cowboys have become so detestable over the years is that they are more commonly referred to as "America's Most Wanted" these days. The teams in the 90's did little to endear themselves to their own fans let alone the rest of the country.

Why do I like torturing Cowboys fans? Cause y'all make it so dang easy. :P It's not meant to be taken personally. It's just a little good natured ribbing the week before the game. :) Can't stand the heat get out of Homer's kitchen. :P LOL

On the championship issue. A championship is a championship no matter when it was won. Just because it's been a while since the Eagles have won does not diminish the fact that yes they have won 3 championships. So if you want to get technical yes the Cowboys have us beat 5-3.

its not hot enough yet in homers kitchen, yes dallas cowboys are known as "americas team" and have been for quite some time,
as for the most wanted_well thats debatable but they do have the rings to show for it eh.

eaglette fans are not torturing me at all,i think its rather funny,im smiling when i knock the eagles, for 1 they have not done a thing period since the inception of the NFL.until they actually have a ring on thier finger well i guess we can say the eagle fans are more jealous than anything.

imho the eagles need not only a new quarterback who can take them over the top but a good ground game as well, the coach well he is great.

Eagles Touchdown Chili

1 lb Chorizo, removed from casing
1 lb Hot Italian Sausage, removed from casing
1 lb Chuck, cut into bite-size pieces
2 lb Hickory-smoked bacon
10 Habenero peppers
5 Scotch Bonnet peppers
10 Jalepeno peppers
4 Poblano peppers
4 Banana peppers
4 Anaheim peppers
2 cans chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
2 large onions
10 cloves of garlic
2 bottles Dark Beer
2 cups Quervo 1800
2 cups Wild Turkey
2 large cans tomato paste
1 large can tomato sauce
2 cans Rotelle Extra Hot diced tomatoes
2 cans kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can navy/great northern bean
1 can garbanzo
1 bar dark bakers' chocolate
1/4 cup chili powder
1/4 cup cumin
1/4 cup basil
1/4 cup oregano
Salt and pepper to taste

Add the spices and the liquid ingredients (beer, tequila, whiskey, tomato paste and sauce) to an 8 quart pot. Slowly bring to a boil.
Dice the bacon and fry until softened and the fat begins to render. Add the bacon and the bacon fat to the pot. Brown the Chorizo, sausage and chuck in a large pan, drain and add to the pot. Slowly bring to a boil again.

For the peppers, remove the caps and ends, halve lengthwise and slice about 1/4 inch thick. Peal and crush the garlic cloves. Drain the beans. Dice the onions, then add the peppers, garlic, beans and onion to the pot. Reduce the heat, and slowly rise to, once again, bring to a slow boil, with a the lid only partially convering the pot.

Taste adjust salt and pepper if neccessary.

After about an hour, in a double boiler, melt the chocolate then add to the pot. Again, bring to a slow boil. This time, reduce to head to a simmer and let cook for another 3 hours.

I serve plain or over rice, with chocolate treats to ease the heat.

This recipe is guaranteed to have you dancing like Terrell Owens in the end zone well into the night. :P >:D

You make your chili with chocolate also?  I learned that in Texas, at a chili cook off.  I am going to make your chili and see how it compares to mine.  Bob will make the perfect judge.
