I am having a problem with Dottie's Dauber.  When I open it, it never marks my numbers.  I can see the mouse over the correct number that she calls, but it will never actually click the number until about 45 seconds to a minute after she has called it.  Usually, by that time, she has already called another number that I have.  So, I get behind, and it misses some bingos.  Is there anything that I can do in order to make Dottie's Dauber work better?  I have Windows 98 and I run the game in True 32-bit color.  I have tried 800X600 and the 1024X___.  Right now, I cannot afford the update my operating system or I would.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

i will throw my 2 cents out, sounds like you have a bunch of programs running in the background, since the auto does work but its just slow.

i know if i have like bitcoment/k-lite along with the other running processes in the background running it bogs my auots way down.

i never used windows 98,i was a linux nut until xp came out, although im still a linux nut.

anyways try going to start, run, type in msconfig hit ok,when the sys.config box pops up,put a check beside selective startup and all underneath> hit apply > go to startup tab> uncheck most everything running except your firewall/anti virus etc.. hit apply, reboot.

thats a cheap and easy way to see if thats a problem  ;)

Bingo,

I also suggest you try a different jvm. If you are using the MS jvm, switch to the Sun jvm or vice versa.

Dallas, thank you for your help.  I haven't tried it yet because I got home too late last night, and I wasn't able to try it.  BadgeHelpBob, I used to use Microsoft VM, however for some reason it just stopped working.  So, I had to download Sun Java.  It's the only Java that is working for my computer right now.  I talked to one of my friend's that is a computer genius, and he said that there must be some corrupted files that is making my Java not work anymore.  He is going to come over and try to fix those files so my old Java will work.  Hopefully, when he fixes those files, it will fix the auto.  That is the only thing that I can think of that is making it not work properly.  I will try dallas' idea and see if it works for me.  I will post back as if to whether it works or not.  Until then, I would appreciate any other suggestions that anyone has.  Thanks for all your help.
