newbie, quick question regarding pinochle

hi,
I am new to the board, I have a couple of questions

1.  What exactly is a pinochle, I have read the rules and I can't really determine what it is?

2.  How would one get like 30 pinochles, I was playing with the bots and on had 30 of them.

3.  Do you only get credit if you win the game? "like the 150 score"

4.  Also, do you actually get credit for all the pinochles each hand, like would you get credit for 30 pinochles

1. A pinochle is a Queen of Spades and a Jack of Diamonds in the same hand.

2. The 30 is not a count of the Pinochles but the point score you get for a given number of pinochles.

3. You generally get credit as soon as the cards are dealt or at least when the melds are calculated after the bidding.

4. For badges and ranks, you get credit for the Pinochles and not for the points associated with the Pinochles.
