Thanks To All Who Take Time To Read This

I got permission to post this link:

https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=89927&lis=1&kntae89927=AEA3253E947947378C6F4A9D5093681B&supId=71388848

This is a link to my webpage provided to me and the Relay for Life Team I belong to by the American Cancer Society.
It is a page to make a donation to help in the fight against cancer.
This is something I do every year with my dear friend and captain of our team "Ray Of Hope"......we are asking for your help and support.
We have many events scheduled this year....Bake Sales,Yard Sales,Raffles,Bingos,Candle Sales, they all lead up to the Main 2 day event "The Relay for Life Walk" at the park in our community!!
The webpage is a new thing the ACS is doing this year to reach even higher goals....we hope it will be a big success.
Please know that ANY and ALL monies go directly to ACS NOT to me in ANY way!

Also these donations go to help those struggling with the afflictions of cancer and towards our main goal of a CURE!!

I would also like to add my own little incentive to anyone who donates at least 5 dollars....I will send you this donation-bear graphic which I will personalize with your name!! It was made entirerly by me using paintshop pro and a lot of learning...lol...I hope you like him!!

Thank you so much for helping to keep HOPE alive for so many people!!
THANKS GUYS FOR LETTING ME DO THIS.....IT MEANS A LOT!!

As someone who is currently battling cancer, and has had a great many people affected by it in the family...it is always great to see someone out there helping out in anyway possible to find a cure and to advocate for this and other worthy causes.

Relay for Life is a wonderful organization, takes little time out of your life to make a difference, and continues to help those affected by cancer.  Please help the cause!

There is another way in which to help, but I don't know if I need to ask permission to promote the site on here or not.  It runs a small program on your computer to crunch data and work on chemical reactions with certain proteins in an effort to help in the research of a gigantic amount of data for cancer research.  If there is someone I should ask on here about posting it, let me know.  I don't want to go against any board policies.

Kelly

You guys are so awesome!!!
We hear story after story in our meetings but each one touches my heart and I just wanna jump up and go out and DO SOMETHING!!

This is my way... the Relay for Life....it goes on for about 5 months but I truely love every minute of it...and this year I don't know why but I am soooo excited about it ALL....I really feel like we are making a difference....if people could see where their few dollars go I thinik it would make a big difference too!
There are so many people who are struggling with this deadly desease and have financail burdens as well and some of the money goes to help relieve this also.....I am sure you know Barb this is the last thing people need to be worring about at a time like this.
My heart goes out to them and it makes we want to scream for the world to PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!

Together I know we can make a change in a life and what in this world is better than that!!

So anyone who reads the posts please just click the link and even if all you can give is 2 dollars...know this much....it WILL help someone somewhere who maybe has no one else to turn to but ACS....and that one day there WILL be a cure and that you helped in the FIGHT!!

Also if you browse the whole site you can find information to start up your own team in your community!!

We are always recruiting and trust me when I say this.....it is just AWESOME FUN TOO!!
The feeling I get thru doing this work is amazing!
It doesn't take much .....get a few people together and come to a meeting or 2 get a few ideas for fund raising and it just rolls from there...you'll be glad you did!!

Thanks Everyone!!
This forum is the best!!!

If I had lots of money I sure would love to help.. My mom and dad have both had cancer, and my dad just found out that the lump they just took out last week was cancer.. My grandmother died with it as well. It is a disease that sure touches a lot of people and breaks a lot of hearts. All these people that are winning millions in the lottery draws.. too bad they wouldn't donate money. Animals are great company, it gives us reason to live sorta.. we know they can't take care of themselves, so no matter how sick we are, we know that kitties and puppys need loving and to be taken care of.. makes us get up in the morning.. If it wasn't for my girl (puppy) I'd probably be staying in bed saying the heck with life...I am a diabetic and a few other health problems.. I'm glad I got her, she makes me get up.. Good luck to all, hope you raise enough money.

Hi everyone,

I got my first donation from the website doantion page today from "Margie" shes a great great lady that I did some graphic work for.....I am so excited the Captain of team was hear and saw it so we are happy!!

Our longenberger basket bingo is going to be a hugh success too I just know it....we go out Monday and ask for local retailers to buy baskets to donate!!

I found out today we can raise money ALL year long so now we might have 2 bingos a year!!

These are very popular bingos in our area.

"Margie" got a special bear for her donation and she's real happy with him....I would love to fill up this forum with those bears....also the ACS saw the bear on my webpage and they love it.....they just might want to use him for the main page so I am just thrilled about that...of course I will donate him to help in their fight!!

I'm a happy lady today!!

Do you take Paypal as I am in Australia and sending a cheque would cost more to cash for you. I am 18 months into my new life, bought a new house ,car and got a new job (kept the old hubby though!) As a nurse I have experienced cancer from both sides of the fence and I know what I prefer.

Kelly

I have THE BEST NEWS OF MY LIFE!!!

I just got back from the Oncologists office earlier today....and my scan came back CLEAN!  I was diagnosed on October 14, 2002 with Stage IV Thyroid cancer at the age of 20.  I was totally in shock, too, having just buried a family member four days previously due to cancer.  I had my surgery to remove the right side of my thyroid, they did the frozen biopsy during surgery, and it was loaded with cancer.  They immediately put me back under and removed the left side (full of cancer), removed cancer from my vocal chords, a parathyroid gland, and a lymph node (both the paraT and lymph node being cancerous as well).  I've had high dosage I-131 radiation quite a few times over the past two and a half years, and finally my scan has come back clean.  I don't have to be poked by an ill tempered nurse for another six months!

I've re-thought quite a few aspects of my life having had to deal with this on a day to day basis...and I appreciate life quite a bit more.  I appreciate family more, sunny days, cloudy days, every day...laughter...teaching my students...teaching myself.  Knowing that there are people out there who support organizations such as Relay for Life, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Lance Armstrong Foundation, and even the people in our communities who take the time to help some of us out...you realize there is alot of good in the people around you.

So to those of you making the donations, joining the teams, and offering a helping hand and a caring face- Thank you.  My grandfather and I are now survivors because of people like you who support the research, and we have both made personal pledges to help others like those that helped us.

This is such a great day for me!   ;D ;D ;D  It's time to celebrate!!

Kelly

Snare that is fantastic news...I am so happy for you!!

Barb what can I say I am at a loss for words to discribe this feeling....there's been a donation made in your name made for a very nice amount!!!

WHAT A WONDERFUL TESTAMENT TO THIS FORUM AND THE GRACIOUS PEOPLE HERE!!!

BRAVO TO YOU ALL

Jinx55

Thank You, Kelly, for the opportunity to Donate to An Awesome cause.  :D  My Donation is in Memory of my Mother-in-Law who died of Colon Cancer this past Feb.5 2005.  She was a Fantastic Woman, and my Wife misses Her so very much :(  She was 81 years old and She survived Breast Cancer twice in Her lifetime, but the Colon Cancer was just too much, I suppose.
Thanks Again :)

Kelly

Hey now! There will be none of that! If an arm's length handshake will not do, she can lean in for a quick peck.
