avatars not on a web site

do all avatars have to be from a web site?..I read a large portion of previous discussion and saw no mention of it. If it does not, could someone explain how to get it from my hard drive to profile, please.

i have and all it says is how to grab one from the internet and not from your computer hard drive.

In order to use an avatar...besides the ones you can pick from they have to be uploaded to the internet...they need an address...which is what you can copy and paste into the profile area for using your own pictures.....I don't think there is any other way that you can do this.
